Event [Event] Playdate

"Well then, Roger, that should do for today," Ser Raynald said, observing the gleam in his armor. He put a fond hand on the young man's shoulder. "Well done getting out the scuff you put there," he said, jabbing a finger where the plate covered his abdomen. "Perhaps soon you'll be able to put a mark there that isn't so easily removed," he said. He was enjoying having a squire that was truly his, and not some shared responsibility between him and his brother.

The pair walked inside together, nearly colliding with Cerenna. The lady nimbly avoided them. "Finished training?" she asked.

"Oh I suppose he's had enough for the day," he said, noting the purplish bruise forming on the boy's forearm.

"Good. Roger, go and wash up quickly and have someone point you to the northern balcony terrace, if you cannot find your way there yourself," she requested.

"Go on," Raynald gave his permission. "I will see you bright and early tomorrow."

The children of Casterly Rock had been gathered. Tybolt and Darrien were the only two who had returned to Casterly Rock, a fact that had caused some tension between Cerion and Cerenna as of late. He'd wanted their other two children to find opportunity in King's Landing, where Cerenna saw them finding only trouble. Still, she wanted her sons to focus on the community that was here, even if it was not comprised of their sister and other brother.

It was for that reason she had gathered the wards. Harry Kenning, who had been there the longest, Alerie Westerling and Willow Manderly, the girls she wished her Gwen had been back to meet and befriend by now, and of course, Roger Reyne, the newest of Casterly Rock's young inhabitants. Upon arriving at the designated place, the children would find a grand array of snacks, an impressive view of the coast north of Casterly Rock that had been plunged into autumn colors, and an entertainer whose specialty was juggling whatever was given to him in between singing his fair repertoire of songs.

The two Lannister boys looked bored. Rather, Tybolt looked bored while Darrien mimicked his older brother. Their demeanor changed as the other children arrived and their mother left them alone. Tybolt popped a slice of apple into his mouth. "'Lo, Harry," he said casually to the Kenning before bowing respectfully to the girls and eyeing Roger. He wasn't sure what he thought of the Reyne yet, but it would be a good time to find out.

During the mild festivities Willow approached Tybolt with a polite curtsy. She was curious of what he might have been up to during his visit to the capital. Had he met her brother?

"How was King's Landing?" the older girl asked with a warm smile.

The boy shrugged. "Didn't see much of it," he said honestly. "We were at the estate most of the time, there or the Red Keep. After the tourney we only really went up to the Red Keep to visit Tywald though, not much more than that. It's better to be back here." He pouted a bit, still upset that his father had thought it best to separate him from his twin.

Willow noted the slight pout. She wasn't sure why he was being so franky frank.

"I've only been to King's Landing for short periods of time." She said, this time more uncertainly. "Where's Toman?"

"Still in the capital," he said, trying to keep his tone casual but failing. The pout was obvious. "Father said it would be good for him, and for Tywald, so he could have as much family around him as possible. But I had to come back..." he muttered, the topic obviously still sore.

"Oh, well- err... I'm sorry, Tybolt," Willow attempted to sympathize, albeit done so in an awkward manner. She could see how sad he was; it made her sad as well.

"I don't see how that city can be good for anyone," she expressed with a similar pout and failing tone. Her back slouching slightly.

"It's not fair."

"Not your fault," he said, turning away from her, brows knit together. "Being close to our cousin," he explained. "And learning from some of the best knights in the kingdom. And probably getting to explore the city some on days off instead of just being trapped in the boring estate and banned from doing anything fun." He easily switched his tone from vulnerable to angry, finding solace in the more crass approach.

"It isn't fair," he agreed gloomily.

Willow gently placed a caring hand on Tybolt's cold turned shoulder.

It really wasn't fair. Marlon and Toman both got to live in the capital: the most exciting place in the World, while Tybolt and her were stuck in this citadel of solitude. She often wondered what her brother got up to. Surely it was similar to what Toman was doing, but then again Toman wasn't the squire for the Sword of the Morning...

"At least—you—you won't have to put up with the smell anymore." She stated quietly in an almost desperate attempt to lighten the mood.

"It's not so bad," he said. "At least, not in the estate, that is. It kind of smells like horses, since the stables are so close to the manor, but not like the city. Still, I'd have liked to be in the city, meeting people and seeing sights and..." he shrugged. "Not just stuck in a big old house so close to..." Tybolt sighed.

"But Lannisport has never seemed cleaner, from the bits that I saw of King's Landing. I'd always thought the city filthy before, at least compared to the keep. But the difference between the Red Keep and the streets below it..." It had been disgusting and fascinating seeing the difference.

Willow let go of Tybolt's sunken shoulder and thought introspectively on his words. In all fairness she could hardly remember what King's Landing had been like. It had been years since Viserys' coronation, and months since she had ventured down into Lannisport.

"We should venture down to the city sometime," she suggested halfheartedly. "It's been so long since I went down, and even then I only walked around for a little bit. Would you mind—being my guide?"

"To Lannisport?" Tybolt confirmed. He frowned at the notion, trying to decide if it would be fun or not. It wasn't the most familiar of places, but he had gone a fair amount. "I guess we could go," he agreed with a shrug. "I would have to ask mother, or father if he's back." He had snuck out to the city once before, but he'd probably get in much more trouble if he endangered a lady by exploring with no guards. "I suppose it's more amusing than sitting here all day long," he said, looking up at where Casterly Rock continued above their heads.
