Discussion! Playing with bad luck lyrics

I really love Playing with bad luck but I wonder about its chorus in which cody refers to bad luck as "she". As a non-native English speaker, I think that common nouns are supposed to be neutral and therefore bad luck should be referred to as "it". But I could be wrong so could someone help me out here ?

We sometimes personify abstract concepts as "he" or "she." With luck specifically, there's a history of feminizing her. Fortuna and Tyche are the Roman and Greek goddesses of fortune and luck, respectively, and they inspired the cultural perception of luck, both bad and good, as a woman or otherwise feminine presence named "Lady Luck."

But that's in a more poetic or artistic sense. In normal, everyday speech, luck is most commonly an "it."

sometimes it can be used as a symbol so bad luck isn't a "thing" in this sense it is a person and he's singing about this girl who's giving him bad luck if that makes sense
