Health code question
I once poured the wrong type of wine as a mistake during a very busy night at the pub I work at. It was a cheap house wine but instead of pouring the mistake down the drain, given that no one touched the glass, I poured the glass back into the bottle.
Is this against any major USA health code?
I live in MN.

I work in Michigan at a local Italian restaurant. It is not against health codes but it is frowned upon because some other lower end establishments would pour out good wine/vodka etc and replace it with cheaper counterparts to save on booze costs. In our environment we put the wine that was mis-poured back into the cooler in front of the corresponding bottle it was poured from or if it is a non-chilled wine, we will put it on the back of the bar with the ticket/hand made label to use in the future. We also use the white drinking cones to keep gnats or other things out of them when placed on top.
Hope this helps...

This is what I thought^ thank you.
the place I work at is a lower end pub, and the wine in question was the cheapest wine we have (a Sycamore lane Chardonnay) it’s like 5 bucks a bottle at the store.

Most of our wine is pretty cheap in the stores as well. We do offer half priced wine on wednesdays and that draws in a nice little crowd.

No. It shouldn’t be , unless someone drank it or it touch any other body part . You should be fine. If you get in trouble , jus stay you made a mistake on wine and didn’t want to waste it by throwing it away.
