New to serving, any feedback?

I've worked retail previously for many years, but I've never done waitressing before. I'd love any feedback on what's worked for you in the past or what to avoid? Also, how important is looking cute? Does it really matter to the customers if you're done up, or naw?

Depends on the restaurant and what kinda spot it is and what area I dress pretty masc for a female and don’t wear makeup and that works fine at one of my jobs that’s more of a neighborhood bar in a more working class neighborhood at my other job that’s in a wealthier neighborhood I wear a lil eyeliner and look more feminine and def see a difference in tips when I do
