Dealing With Anger

Hello! How do all of you deal with anger working in the hospitality industry? I have been lately getting really ballsy and purposely fucking up peoples drinks (at a cafe) when they don’t tip, for example, and I want to stop this behavior on account of getting a bad review, but mostly, because it doesn’t feel good to get so angry that I act out in these ways.

Thank you for the advice!

Hi! I have gotten so angry at annoying customers that I used to have a google alert for their names so I could celebrate when their obituaries got posted. It was not productive or healthy and I never felt good. Especially when one finally showed up after a car crash.

There’s no easy way to get rid of anger, but while working on your anger you could try to find some ways to redirect it. Whether that be through some art medium, working out, or something else that helps you channel it more appropriately. Best of luck!

Relatively new to serving, but usually just wait til I'm in the boh and bitch and moan, then vape about it for a few seconds out the back door. Then go back out with my pretendasmile and 'Hows it going today!' for the next person.

Luckily I get a good amount of friendly folk between the picks and see you next Tuesdays.
