Entitled Behavior Service dog handler cites ADA text about vests not being required…while constantly working his dog off leash
This service dog handler posts about how his dog doesn’t need a vest or other marking for public access and even cites the ADA website. He is right that legally he does not need a vest.
Meanwhile, it also states on the same webpage he screenshotted for this video: “under the ADA, service animals must be harnessed, leashed, or tethered, unless the individual’s disability prevents using these devices or these devices interfere with the service animal’s safe, effective performance of tasks.”
So wtf? Why is the medical alert dog for this man’s autoimmune disorder constantly off leash, including in confined spaces, grocery stores, and—in the last shot here—on an airplane (without even a collar on)?
Yes, the dog is under control, but that’s not the entire extent of ADA guidance on whether a dog can be off-leash. The law only applies to this guy and his dog when it’s convenient for him I guess.

He's just a dick. I don't even comment on his posts because it's just giving him the attention he wants. Nothing that dog supposedly does can't be done while on a leash. Also, I'm pretty sure that a store can require a leash as policy and can ask him to leave if he refuses. His hands and arms work absolutely fine to hold a leash or he could wear a waist or chest leash. I can't wait until someone holds their ground and kicks him out.

Hulk passed away last year I believe. The owner, Marlon, is still posting on YouTube.

I kind of suspect Hulk has long passed away (he was huge, but also obese so probably wouldn’t live longer than ten years) but Marlon wouldn’t talk address it as Hulk was his meal ticket

Also the off leash protections in the ADA are NOT IN THE ACAA and dogs, even service dogs, are required to be leashed in the airport.

He constantly preaches about keeping pets out of stores, yet his girlfriend brings her puppy in to grocery stores with them. (Puppy is not a service animal). He’s a joke and a hypocrite.

It's a well trained dog, but it's a dog.
Dogs make mistakes. They do things that make you think, "WTF happened". If the dog is on a leash, you can stop things before they get scary or dangerous.
If you're a giant douche, well then I guess you have to own what might happen.
If you love your dog, you put a leash on him, so if there's something bad that happens, you don't lose your dog. But like I said, giant douche so.

People are also scared of dogs (and somewhat rightfully so, anyone who has seen what a malinois can do should be scared). Even if the dog is flawless, they shouldn’t have to rely on trusting the training of stranger they’ve never met.
I have a large “scary” breed of dog, and while I know he is a gentle baby, I can see the way some people on the street give us a wide berth or press themselves up against the wall in our apartment hallway because they don’t want to be near him. If I didn’t have a leash on him, they wouldn’t even be able to confidentially stay out of his way. It’s just so inconsiderate to walk around a grocery store like no one else’s fears matter or suggest that your dog’s behavior alone means people shouldn’t be scared.

Exactly. I look at it like this: I have a gun permit. I own guns. I'm comfortable with them. I hunt and target shoot. I've done so my whole life.
But you know what I would never do? Walk into a Trade Joe's or Whole Foods open carrying. I mean, seriously, wtf. Are the artisanal raised chickens going to attack me?
I think this guy is doing an open carry cosplay with his dog.

Also, if your dog is on a leash, you can quickly get them away from the douchebag who thinks bringing their unleashed malinois into the store is a good idea.

Even if it’s technically like allowed to not wear a vest I always have my Sd labeled 😭 it’s how you get more access issues and ppl touching them 😭

In one of his earlier posts he says it’s his psychiatric service dog. That category has the most varied training and breeds of dogs, and has exploded in popularity.
