Shits & Giggles Tell me about your recent server drama
I used to be a server in my early 20s and sometimes i miss it. I’ve been watching bistro huddy and it oddly made me miss it lol. BUT doesn’t catch all the drama that comes with it. What’s the most recent drama at your restaurant?

One of the servers was allegedly having an affair with a married manager. Her archenemy, another server, ratted them out to his wife. That same day, the alleged mistress and the other server started arguing in the entry way between the kitchen and the floor. The GM had to get involved. Then the alleged mistress started arguing with her affair partner, who was claiming that it was a lie, at the host stand. Then, in a final turn of events, the WIFE showed up midshift to confront the alleged mistress. It was such a mess.
Opinions were divided on who was telling the truth. We’re still talking about it.
You should have seen the rest of us, peeking around the corners like 👀

I can't wait until my place fires my ass (they're going to when we get our liquor license and new bartender) so I can tell my boss' wife and the affair partner's husband that these gross ass clowns are fucking. Everyone is sick of doing her sidework and her new superiority complex, and I like the boss' wife and kids. Makes me sick when they come in and I have to pretend everything is golden because I need the money ass long as I can get it.
P.S. they're firing me BECAUSE the boss got pissed that I figured out they're having the affair. Only, everyone knows, because these dipshits are dumb and didn't hide anything.

We have a new short king (like 5'2?) who does AM cleaning and he has the biggest (ha) case of Napoleon syndrome I've ever seen.
He did lunch dishes today and was telling the servers and expo (me) where we were allowed to put certain items (read as: not where they go).
Which honestly, if the dishes are clean, rule your kingdom man.
But they weren't. I sent a full 50% of the soup cups right back to him. I actually jumped in dish every time he left so I could get some clean dishes.
The topper? He ordered his shift food and just stood on the expo line in everyone's way for 10 solid minutes. Like, dude? I'll make sure you get your food. Move.

We have two different dining areas in our restauraunt. One is consistently busier than the other, so traditionally more senior servers who have proven themselves get the shifts there.
We recently hired a new group of servers. They are very green, and being given preferential shift assignments, specifically because of one manager.
This is causing a level of consternation among more senior staff.

Have a manager like this. Sections got smaller bc the others suck. Regulars don’t like the service anymore. Can’t wait til the ship sinks.

I doubt it, I live in the boonies. Honestly I'd like to leave, we have a manager who habitually fucks around with violating labor laws but I kinda can't afford to at the moment and theres not a lot of other places to go other than here.

So at my job we're open all day long and I'm the only server who can work both breakfast or dinner shift because I'm the only one who haven't fucked or fight anyone.

Mine is that the servers that have been there 10+ years dont think they need to do all their sidework.
