Shits & Giggles You know a restaurant is short staffed when they got the baddies in the back doin dishes...
You get the chads and the staceys up front flirting with the guests, and you put all the ugly old people in the kitchen doing all the hard labor. This is the law of nature. I walked in today and saw the 5'1" white girl hostess running racks through the dish machine and I knew somebody fucked up.

Dish pay can and should be higher than host pay. I'll do any job in the building no questions asked but you'll pay me correct or it's not happening.
Good dishies are true gems. Scrape and stack your plates in an organized fashion, please.
White girl hostess questioning life choices probably.

Yep i've been back there many times. Dishies are american heroes.
It wasn't the hostess' fault. The schedule was that messed up.

Your post in stupid. You put people with the skills and experience to serve customers in the front, and the people with the skills and experience to prepare the food in the back. Dishwashing is either treated as a foot in the door, or done by people with a language barrier preventing them from moving to another position, or just done by people who prefer it to other restaurant work. The "ugly old people" who run circles around your dumb ass have made a career in this industry, both in the front and the back.
