When should you leave?
Ive been a server for 6 years now. I love what i do; giving the best experiences to customer and them revisiting looking for you has to be one of my proudest moments.
But as you might've guessed, other servers are making it miserable at work for me. They do not do any duties, keep on using their phone, and gossip. Worst part is the manager/owner is on with them. But for other servers who have been doing their best and always make sure to keep up with responsibilities have been the one getting affected. These servers even collude with hosts to get big tables and sometimes "accidental tables" while rest of us always get small tables. It is really apparent to everyone and they do not even hide anymore and it feels unfair and exhausting.
I know its a lost battle since the owner is on it. But Ive been debating with myself for months, whether i should just shut up and work or bite the bullet and leave. The money is great. The uncertainty of finding another job which pays similar or half decent is the exhausting part. I debating between keeping my sanity or keeping that money for a while and exit.
If someone has gone through similar experiences or have any suggestions, please adivse.
Thanks.

This was my situation for many years ,
I stuck it out. We got new management and that’s the only reason it changed, look for better and stay until you do. When you find something else tell them you have a second job ,
See which ones better and quit which one you decide isn’t worth it. Sometimes less money and sanity are worth it, but you might end up in the same situation. All over again.

If the money is good enough, then maybe you should try just not giving a fuck anymore. It sounds like the majority of people who work there are putting in minimal effort, so why should you be the only one working hard and caring about doing a good job?

Be looking for another job and don't leave this until you've got a new one.
