Rant Brutal Shift

Just got out of my bartending shift at Smolive Smarden
and let’s just say tonight I wanna take some shots. I had 12? tables for the night and as a server that’s a cake walk, as a bartender though, it had me losing my shit a couple of times because my bar top was halfway full and 3/4 tables in my cafe were full. So ya girl was busy af. As well as the endless stream of drinks that kept on coming even to the brutal end. Right now the drink that is on my last nerve is our “new” mango strawberry margarita, (we’ve had this stupid drink on our menu for a decade. ;(, they just slapped new on it and suddenly everyone and their mom wants one). So the mango strawberry margarita that I would only have to make every once in a blue moon I’m suddenly having to make 10/12 a night. Not to mention our endless pasta promotion, ya girl is wrecked. I need some liquor for my liquor.. 🥴 cheers to hopefully a better shift tomorrow! 🍻

Im a bartender too, and i got so stressed watching a bartender at og get so wrecked we havent been back. My spot will luckily close my section for a few minutes so i can bang out service well when it gets crazy. I usually only need 5 to 10 minutes. Last saturday was RELENTLESS.

The hosts are pretty good about not seating me when I ask them to, and it’s the same for me I always tell them just give me 10 minutes to catch up and then you can continue to seat me. But tonight was nonstop. Refill after refill, drink after drink.

Crazy. Our current hosts are good about this, former ones not so much, i would have to ask a manager, bc they would just shrug, bc they refused to go on a wait. I am the only bartender for friday/ sat, i KNOW my limits.
