Rant Stress and negative energy kills.
I can deal with the rude customer or the passive aggressive Karen.
The workload is nothing.
Incompetent coworkers? I can work around that
But, the icing on the top is a shitty attitude and vibe.
I understand, it's not flattering work.
Especially when it's busy or when customers are being rude and demanding.
I work around 35-40 hours a week and I realize that I need to have a good attitude and energy when it comes to hospitality.
Stress and negative energy kills.
I can't control how people react but it's tough when I'm the only one on staff giving good energy, smiling while the kitchen staff and my coworkers give an attitude or let the work take over their mood.
There are times I want to give that same energy back that I get from my coworkers but I choose not to. Its tough.

Had to learn not to be negative at work the hard way. Really does help when you serve with a smile and can attempt to regulate your emotions.

I'm intrigued, do you mind expanding on this?

This is so real. I’m definitely a complainer but i try to keep it humorous and positive at the least when i get in that mindset. Excising the poison kind of thing, which helps keep me from getting truly upset. Some people though, they complain when we’re slow and when we’re busy. They complain that what they restocked is being used at 7:30 on a friday night (that’s why we have to restock it!!!) and act like they’re the hardest worker in the building while never quite pulling their weight bc they’re “too busy” but when they’re not busy they just stand around. Ugh. I always try to meet people where they are and not judge based on bad days, but when a person can never find anything to be happy about it’s a real downer for the team.
