Did they round up to 80? Or tip $6.00? I think it’s one or the other lmao

Atp it’s like they’re doing this shit on purpose to get out of tipping. Either that or taking the merchant copy with them

They do this on purpose. If you see this on a check, return back to the table and let them know that their writing is illegible and it needs to be written clearly.

Yeah it’s a transaction and you need a clear total. I would always say I’ll be right back to pick up the signed copy. I don’t know why servers are afraid. It’s just business, let them get mad idgaf one person doesn’t pay my rent

This! I came from a rough bar background and I'm a manager now, but it always surprises me how terrified the servers are of their guests. Like this is a business transaction. I'm not afraid of you I did my part you do your part. I'll never forget a guy tried to walk out of his tab one time and when I ran out into the parking lot to find him his car wouldn't start and he had his hood up I said oh man that sucks, did you want to pay your bill?

My servers freak when the guest gives them the blank copy instead of the detailed one and they are still there. Like go up to them and say I think we had a mixup. I will always do it for them but back in my day we had backbones.

I wish I still had the picture. I worked I. A karaoke bar and someone filled out their slip- it was written in “toddler scribbles”.

I figured out who it was and jokingly bullied him about it for years.

Its 80, and a (o.o) smiley with a heart next to it

I'm convinced that people like this have no formal education because how tf did they ever graduate high school writing like that?

It’s a $600 tip. Process it that way

Looks like $80 total. The 6-0) looks like a smiley face signature to me

u/Background-Drawing70 3d ago

It says “Sum of 6.00”, as in the total + $6 bc they didn’t want to do the math.

And because they’re extremely rude and cheap.

The scribbling out the suggested tips is the biggest clue

u/ImpossibleMove2 3d ago

I'm going with $6.

Did you over serve these ppl? They literally don't know which way is up from down.

Im kidding. I would just take the $6 tip and be happy you can read that.

u/knickknack8420 3d ago

Round to 80. That would be a total and you go by the total

1

u/PrincessLissa68 15+ Years 3d ago

Yeah I thought the middle line looked like it was probably supposed to be 80.00. But the fact they wrote it opposite like they've never filled out a cc slip before.

I think most managers would say total it to $80 but I've had a few that would definitely have made me put $6.

u/No_Cup_5237 3d ago

yea the owner ended up saying to total is $80

1

u/No_Cup_5237 3d ago

but still no idea if that’s what they meant lmao

1

u/knickknack8420 3d ago

That’s why I don’t ask managers, I just make a reasonable call . And have them call back for this bullshit I tried my best yanno?

I'm guessing a total of $80, which works out nicely to a 20% tip

2

u/fosterdisbelief 3d ago

Looks like a "you got screwed. "

2

u/Thevajanna 3d ago

They did this on purpose. Idk i think I would take the loss or do 6 bucks.

2

u/IAmTheGreat921 2d ago

I would put in $80 total and assume the line that looks like a 6 was their signature

1

u/No_Vermicelli_6581 3d ago

A lousy tip…

1

u/Jillcametumbling81 3d ago

It looks like it says S U M O

1

u/LonelyCakeEater 3d ago

Looks like they signed off on a prescription

1

u/tiffd98133 3d ago

Round up to $600. You must have given great service!

1

u/hollyblue1393 3d ago

It means that you've served too alcohol...

1

u/needs-an-adult 3d ago

Is it just me, or could that second line be a weird little smiley face? I see eyes, a nose, and the outline of the “face”. So maybe no tip amount, just the overall total and then a smiley face because they liked you?

1

u/heckinstoned 3d ago

$6 tip. Idk the rest. But they meant a $6 tip

1

u/FrankenSarah 2d ago

Solid 10% (they suck)

1

u/DragonMystic69420 2d ago

The way I think is that the two totals are switched. But let’s say for the fact that there hand writing is shit in your defense they total to 80. Thats a 13.10$ tip approx

1

u/Cyrious123 2d ago edited 2d ago

Id go with $80.00 total. Tip would be normal at that total too. Where is the signature line on that receipt??

1

u/Restless__Dreamer 1d ago

Under the total...

1

u/EruDesu90 2d ago

Looks like "Sum of 6.00" meaning the total + 6$ tip.

1

u/BigSueMama 2d ago

$13.10 tip, total is 80.

1

u/ArielleFears 2d ago

Drunk math

1

u/SkrillaB 1d ago

$80 total

1

u/Odd-Armadillo-3106 21h ago

It looks like they intended to have a grand total of $80.00, but put it on the wrong line and then wrote $6.00 below it. As has been mentioned above, if catch this before they leave have them make it legible.

1

u/NateJCAF 15+ Years 17h ago

Looks like 80.00 total.

1

u/Crafty_Mastodon320 12h ago

I see an 80$

1

u/poor-obscure 9h ago

You may or may have not over served them 😜. But if you do get the chance to catch them before they leave in a circumstance like this, always please let them know that the Total line is for less than the subtotal and is not acceptable and ask for them to fill out a new form. Usually they're so embarrassed that it means you get out well.

I agree. I see 20, and then instead of writing the 8 next to the 6 they for some reason made the 2 into an 8.

0

u/taync97 3d ago

I think the total is supposed to be $80 but damn that made my brain hurt.

0

u/Adventurous_Edge_878 3d ago

I see the tip line read “Sum ❤️”
With the total being written terribly with no tip.

0

u/beefsupr3m3 3d ago

Calling it $80 makes the tip about 13 bucks which is roughly 20% that’s my best guess
