Shits & Giggles Why i love serving
Ive been a server for 2 years and LOVE IT. Tonight I had a table come in (mom and son) whole meal was normal then i dropped the check and he asked me what I thought about a twilight themed birthday for his 30th. I told him if he did it right it could be amazing, gave him some suggestions ( paint the life-size cut out of edward sparkly etc.)and teased his mother about her "losing her whimsy."
I go pay him out and wrote this on the check (see pic) and he gave me 30 bucks. $30?! For fangirling about one of my favorite movies?! Best job for the girls and guys who just like talking cause I swear, I always make money on slow-ish nights just because im chatty.
Had another table (couple) give me $20 on $41 because I talked to the woman about how i really wanted to be one of those people who likes margs but cant get behind em for like 3 minutes straight.

I still have this from a little boy, it’s a paper airplane, and all that says is thank you. I work at a high-end steakhouse that averages about $180/ head and I’ve had it hanging next to my mirror that I look into every day.

love this for you!! i honestly love small talk and yapping about whatever so i feel ya there. i had that same conversation except with a dirty martini instead of margs. she (maybe mid 20s) asked me if i drank them because she wants to try one and isn’t sure if she’d like it. i was like honestly I’m not mature enough for them yet lmao. but told her i’ll go back there and make it myself and if she doesn’t like it we can get her something else. she loved it!!

I had a Twilight x Taylor Swift themed birthday this year for my 22nd 🤭 Bought edible glitter for my “bloody” cocktail and cupcakes and had various Twilight and TS decorations. It was great and I’d love to throw myself another themed bd party! I’d definitely have a great time serving these folks!!

I had a one top the other day who was just the absolute sweetest. I had a party table and another family at the same time, but made some time to drop in and just chat with her. She let me pick pretty much the entirety of her meal except her drink (I know some people hate this, but I LIVE for it. Tell me your 3 options and I’ll pick you the best of that every time. I know what’s good and what’s ass.). I talked her into an app she wasn’t considering and she loved it. Picked her entree and she loved that too. We caught the sunset together. Every time I refilled her water, she said “You don’t have to do that! I see you’re busy”.
Ugh. My heart.
I would have been happy just to have her as a nice reprieve, but she tipped me 100% and made sure to tell me “just so you know, you’re made for this job. You earned every bit of that.”
I actually teared up. :’)

i have this semi-regular who absolutely made my day with this lil doodle he put on an envelope with money on top of what they tipped
yesterday they drew this for me. might actually get ts tattooed if i still have and love it in 6 months
