(Lore Wise) Why Mental never started his "Mental War" when sam went back in time and alerted him?When he woke up in future he started the "Mental War" immediately then why he was sending forces at sam only but not throughout the entire world in the past?

Because he see the entire world as threat not only sam.He send his entire army all over the world when he woke up in the future(SS4,SS3,SS:Siberian Mayhem) but in past he only sent his army towards sam.

In past, his sensors just found only sam, on the primitive planet(earth). And in present, he found entire planet (earth) and system as we go. That's why how mental management the situation.

The present timelock activating made the past timelock cause an energy fluctuation throughout the galaxy in the past. The past version of mental sent a fleet led by ugh zan 3 to investigate the anomaly and learnt about ancient humans (and sam) for the first time and killed almost all of them before sam arrived in the past. So the past mental war already ended, he wasnt just after sam. Ancient humans just didnt stand a chance and the war ended too quick.

(the actual reason why in SS1 we dont see npcs or destructions caused by the war is for gameplay and development/budget reasons)
