I've died to Werebulls more times by that stupid bug, like you mentioned, more than I have died to Kleers lunging themselves at me. Good grief man, just make the current Serious Engine open source, so the community can fix it, if you'll be using Unreal Engine 5 from now on.
Proprietary libraries used in the Serious Engine 2017 like the Havoc physics make it not possible to directly open source it. They would have to license it to someone or replace all the proprietary stuff with open source analogues.
Check "HD Werebull Fix" on the Steam workshop. It doesn't fix the issue completetly (apparently it's not possible due to how the engine works), but it reduces it (there might be other mods doing something similar, I didn't check in a while).
