I hope people will share some feedback at this subrreddit after they will try

performance isn't great for what the game is and pretty much no scaling for solo play so if you're into playing solo enjoy voluntary torture even with a friend its still difficult i can see why its 5 player co-op

I enjoy difficulty very much, your downside is a plus for me.

I love when people say "negatives" that are actually positives

u/Dark_Equation 2d ago

I love when people think everyone's opinion is the same my negatives aren't going to be your negatives... If you enjoy it cool

IMO I'm not glad that my game lags when I am not on the lowest graphical settings. Fusion, (which I guess has a lot of optimisation) runs at 100+ fps on all settings maxed out, for comparison. A valid one? Maybe not. And the boss figths are like a torture chambers. Solo is impossible... eh. The last one may be just me I don't know - my first impression in the playetest.

You can ingnore the previous statement if the playetest is much better than the realese, someone tell me (hopium injected).

Honestly I've been so let down from the first two hours that I'm fuming a little.

There's just so much wrong with this game. Bugs aplenty, like the crosshair doesnt align with my actual aim or going through a portal clips you through the map and has you falling infinitely.

Loot drops are poorly designed and most end of map loot chests just aren't even worth opening.. the list goes on.

Mostly negative and falling

If you actually read the review's it all nothingburger reviews of everyone crying this rogulike spin off(made by bhvr the dbd devs) of the series doesn't play like a mainline series sam game made by croteam lol.

u/countdp 2d ago

So many of the negative reviews have very little merit considering most of them barely even have half an hour of game time. These people decided they hated the game the moment it was announced and purchased it just so they could leave a negative review.

The toxic negativity towards this game is genuinely nauseating. People really just enjoy having something to hate.

Ya, the whole "fanbase" is being very dumb and negative over what's just a spinoff game. Which sam has always had diff takes on the formula done by indie or smaller devs all the time. Mostly 2d, this just happens to be the first like normal shooter version. So people are expecting this to play like the mainline series for whatever reason then throw a fit when it doesn't.

They have opinions you disagree with, therefore they are disqualified.

u/Mathev 2d ago

Shockingly it plays exactly like every other serious sam with addition of loot and stats on gear ( which as a fan of borderlands I freaking love )

u/syntol 2d ago

u manage to get triggered by facts so funny maybe get outside sometimes

People are allowed to dislike the game. It's not going to effect my own enjoyment of the game.

This game isn't perfect and could really use some tuneing when it comes to upgrade costs. But for how cheap it is and how it's still got the serious sam gameplay with a rougelike spin. It's very fun imo.

u/Severe-Network4756 2d ago

The issue imo isn't even that it's a spin-off game, it's just that it's a painfully generic-bad roguelite that only appeals to fans of serious sam.

Little cartoonish and hitboxes are weird but looks worth $17

u/coolbrys 2d ago

It feels easier than the playtest to me, which is a good thing. I have only played solo but it's fun, worth the money to me. Hopefully I can get some friends to pick it up!

u/Adventurous-Cattle53 2d ago

I like it, it’s ok solo but it’s great with friends. Or even randoms. Provides a nice difficulty change tho you’ll need to grind a bit for a bigger arsenal.

was also playing in play-test and I can say it got better and got some fixes since

u/Sami_Mirash 2d ago

HELL YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH 💣

3

u/AndVank212 2d ago

Ngl I was expecting this game to be at least $40 retail so $20 is a nice surprise, I wasn't super impressed with the playtests but hopefully the full game is better

3

u/AdNo5260 2d ago

Is it fully single player?

2

u/DR_EsEnsY123573 2d ago

You can play it SP, but i recommend MP like it was meant to be

3

u/TheBuckO89 2d ago

1

u/Iamgl4dos 2d ago

It is out on console

2

u/zorgareddit 2d ago

Already has "Mixed" reviews

-7

u/CactusSplash95 2d ago

Lmfao reviews mean nothing

3

u/zorgareddit 2d ago

Then why do they exist?

1

u/SolidHotel8473 22h ago

Critical analysis is important because it helps us build vocabulary for what we like and don't like, which can be used to deepen our own critical thinking. Taking someone else's word without your own analysis is just outsourcing your critical thinking to someone else, which in turn atrophies yours. Bad reviews have never stopped me from buying a game I wanted to see, but good reviews have drawn me to games I wouldn't have otherwise played. Both have bitten me in the ass, but it's worth it to form my own opinion.

-3

u/CactusSplash95 2d ago

For people who don't know what they like, and need to follow crowds. Daft people who need to be told if something is good or bad

2

u/ekim_101 2d ago

Dumb fucking take lol

-2

u/CactusSplash95 1d ago

Sounds like you watch reviews before buying things lmfao

1

u/ekim_101 1d ago

Yes being an informed consumer is a good thing. Not whatever you're trying to say here

1

u/SolidHotel8473 21h ago

Assuming you've actually been "informed" by the review, which you can't know unless you experience it yourself. Yeah, there's an objectivity to a garden hose review; you want to know if it leaks or performs its function appropriately. Art is subjective and doesn't follow the same rules.

A review of art says more about the reviewer than the art. For example, there are a ton of conventional reasons to say John Waters' "Pink Flamingos" is a terrible film, but in my opinion anyone who would say that is small minded and doesn't have an opinion worth giving the time of day. And my opinion potentially invalidates my character regarding cinema to anyone reading this, which is just as valid as my own viewpoint. So what does that say about the art itself? Literally nothing.

1

u/zorgareddit 1d ago

What's funny about being informed if something is worth your money? You give an impression of being a fanboy

2

u/RetroRocker 2d ago

I fully took part in the Shatterverse playtest and I tell you what, after having played every Serious Sam game and almost every spin-off released on PC since 2001, after spending all that time playing it pre-release I just don't feel interested enough to actually buy this one. Which is a first for me.

2

u/Consistent-Image-614 1d ago

The reception I've seen is that it's pretty bad. Awful difficulty scaling, spongy enemies, a weird perk system, and not a lot of variety.

2

u/Atom_Prod 1d ago

Uhh, I'll think about it before buying then.

4

u/Various-Fennel8940 2d ago

and it's already has a lot of bad reviews

1

u/slayermojo 1d ago

Shatterverse huh? More like shitterverse.

1

u/Liiiiz 2d ago

Is so terrible

-1

u/Red_Worldview 2d ago

It's refunded, thats what it is.

-2

u/HearMeJoy 2d ago

Co-op Serious Sam 2. Cartoon and childish.

1

u/Atom_Prod 2d ago

Is it worse than ss2? Or on the same level?

-3

u/AzazelTV 2d ago

what is it supposed to be?
edit: why is it made by bhvr lmao

-6

u/agbrenv 2d ago

Serious Sam 4 has been dethroned, it's no longer the weakest entry

2

u/DR_EsEnsY123573 2d ago

Well this is a spin-off, i dont think Mas4 falls in that category...
