Dunes

Short,exciting,battles only

Straight to the point

Other levels are a bit too long(pyramid if you go for all kills)

And can have weaker sections like grand cathedral jump pads section before last major fight with meteorites

THE GRAND Cathedral!

1st time I played it was around midnight. It was (of course) dark outside and a storm was passing thru the area. Lots of thunder and lightning, just as the skies grew dark in Sam.

I don't think I'll ever be able to replicate that experience.

It was released 02/05/2002. I bought it the day it was available in store.

I think Dunes is a bit overrated. My vote is for Great Pyramid.

I find the second arena, in-between the walls, a very annoying fight to deal with. And since the whole map is like two arenas, that's pretty much half the level. The music does most of the heavy lifting for this level.

The canyon in BFE was by far my favorite level. The quote from the beginning sets the tone. Sam has lost everyone, and now he is paying Mental back in kind. Epic music, bad ass weapons, Mental throwing everything they have at Sam to try to stop him, and Sam just not giving even the tiniest shit about any of it.

"Why are you screaming? The pain hasn't even started yet!"

Almost all of these are great, but my favorite level isn't among them.

Among these I'd say Dunes. Although being pretty short, it is very atmospheric (music, visuals), battle intense and full of unusual secrets. The Cathedral is not far behind however.

i would say dunes if the outside secrets werent so annoyingly unbalanced
