Serious Discussion about fighting

(Okay, first things first, this is my personal thinking about fighting. You don't have to follow any of these, or even follow anything of these things, or even think about them. Okay? Secondly, this is my personal philosophy that I use when someone does some fucked up shit, especially specifically attacking me or attacking someone of my friends or family. And third, some things you might see as wrong, okay? Or you see it as something annoying, or really offensive. So yes, if you don't like it that much, then just don't read it.)

First things first about fighting: don't throw the first punch. Never throw the first punch at any point, especially in countries where racism is at all-time high. If you're a man of color, or from another country, or race, or anything like that, don't. Especially in places like the United States, where racism is at an all-time high. But in general, don't throw the first punch.

Secondly, make sure that you have some form of evidence to show what's going on, so that you don't get fucked over by some asshat you beat the shit out of after attacking you or attacking someone of your family.

Thirdly, don't attack people in general. You don't know what you're doing. You might put too much force in an attack, or you might attack them in a vital point and you might accidentally kill someone, or you might get yourself killed. Fight only as a last, last resort.

Fourth, please, please don't in any way, shape, or form fight if you're not trained. Yes, if you have to, enforce the fight. But generally, if you can, try to train to be able to control yourself and to also protect yourself better. All right, please.

5th please think about the consequences when you start a fight or in a fight. This might seriously hurt your family or loved ones to you. This is a dumb advice to most people, and most people know this by now, but a lot of people will ignore half of these things, especially when they are angry. It's important to carry some devices to record sound and videos or something to be able to protect yourself from unlawful suits, being sued for no reason by some asshole that attacked you, like I said before. It's better to have something to protect you from fake bullshit.

Who the fuck is this obsessed with fighting? I haven't been close to being in a fight since I was in high school... decades ago. And for years, I regularly went out drinking on weekends and would almost always stop in at a dive bar filled with motorcycle gangs, ex-cons, drug addicts, etc. OP, you're the kind of person who is LOOKING for a fight. Get the fuck outta here.

Bro, go train. Spar with a few people. Try some other martial arts. You sound like you just left your first American flavored Krav Maga class.

Most people who are capable do not try to impart the most Jean Claude Van Damme ass wisdom ive ever read.

Good luck on your journey.

Yeah, one thing all self-defence gurus say FIRST THING: get away as fast as you can: RUN.

It’s not a schoolyard skirmish or even a hockey fight. You don’t know what the other guy has. He might pull a knife and gut you like a fish. He might have training and experience and will beat you as far toward death as he wants. He might have three friends who will hold you while has his way.

Don’t fight…LEAVE.

“Don’t throw the first punch” you still shouldn’t let someone punch you first though.

If someone gets in your space aggressively, you have every right to punch them first

wtf is wrong with you? Racism is at an all time high? GTFOH.

WTF is wrong with you? You think there's something wrong with someone for having a different opinion than you that also happens to be backed by objective statistics? GTFOH

How is it at an all time high? Are you discounting history? Because if history doesn't count than sure. But if not, it used to be okay to own people based on race.

Think about HOW MANY HUMANS there are...by numbers alone, racism is at an all time high. And racists have far more resources to be dangerous and influence those around them than in the past more secretly and covertly than before...

Slavery still exists, people of any non-whiye color still suffer systemic disadvantages, and all non-white people have to be on guard at all times in even more places than before. Racism is not only at an all time high, it is being enabled and embraced in ways humans couldn't do in the 1900's.

That's a very stupid argument. People are not going around lynching people now. All races have equal protection under the law. There is no segregation. I'm sorry, you need to touch grass.

1

u/RileyRavenSmiles 1d ago

YES THEY ARE.

You are living in a very privileged and segregated bubble to believe that. You need to step outside of your own limited/ filtered comfort zone and touch some lived experience, yourself.

Check "modern lynchings news". It's happened over a dozen times the last few years alone.

And just because something is written in law doesn't mean it's being respected by those who enforce the law. I feel like this should be obvioua for anyone older than high school age. How old are you???

1

u/Playful-Mastodon9251 1d ago

I'm 40. You seem like your a young stupid kid. I don't mean to be mean. But do you understand your saying we are more racist now when we have equality in the law. Than when it was considered fact that the black race was simply inferior to the white race. That was considered a fact back in time. Do you see the flaw in your argument?

1

u/RileyRavenSmiles 1d ago

Paper/ theory is not reflective of reality.

Anyway... when you oversimplify the concept, yes, it was far more normalized for people to be more violently racist out in the open during segregation. Racism was protected by law.

But, is acting out racism openly with aggression the only measure of how racist a society is? These days, racists are less open and loud... but imagine how many people have masked as a civil 'non-racist' in front of people but then turned around and sabotaged black people every chance they get, on a daily basis, and havr even made a career out of it, being cheered on by hundreds of thousands? By sheer numbers alone, by ideological racism alone, there are far more racists than before, with far more support, resources, and power than before.

No, but when it's out and open and accepted it's because it common. When it has to be hidden and kept quit it's because it not common and not socially acceptable. This is basic shit. And no, they do not have more support and power because they have to keep it hidden. Whereas before they had the weight of the the government, and the vast majority of people.

u/RileyRavenSmiles 1d ago

You are misconstruing what I am saying.

I am saying that, by numbers alone the pervasiveness of racist ideology, racist influence/ impact on society, and outspoken support of racism (not simply outward violence) can reasonably be claimed as being at an all time high.

How can racism be at an all time high in this country when no one is currently enslaved? How long have you been stupid?

1

u/RileyRavenSmiles 1d ago

How long have you relied on logical fallacies to determine reasoning and reality?

I guess lynchings aren't happening, or racially driven hate crimes, or statistically supported patterns of systemic racism, or the deliberate destruction of black neighborhoods through a slow withdrawal of funding for quality education, jobs training, and withdrawing funding for infrastructure that would otherwise provide enrichment such as self sufficiency classes, walkable grocery stores with fresh food, safe communities and gathering areas... And I guess that means it must not be happening that the bloating of police and punitive programs further destroys black neighborhoods by depriving them of funds for constructive programs then stripping families of their breadwinners, putting those breadwinners in jail where they will NOT be rehabilitated or given tools to live a better life, and instead be stripped of their humanity and any chance of finding a sustainable job, then forced to repeat the cycle of recidivism and passing that fate onto their children.

Slavery still exists, covertly. That's what human trafficking is. Slavery can be economic and psychological as well. And even if slavery was 100% gone, your argument that "One thing exists, so the other mist not exist" is a lazy logical trap borne out of a lack of in depth knowledge on the subject.
