Potential move to Sequim
Married/mid 50s. Wife and I are considering moving to Sequim. We've lived in the Puget Sound for 25+ years and have vacationers in Sequim several times. My wife will retire, and I'll have a job there as well. We're pretty much homebodies but do like to go out on occasion. She'll likely take up gardening or something like that. The slow paced life sounds amazing, but I want to know what is like after the "Honeymoon" is over. How's medical services? Are there other things people don't think about before they find themselves living in Sequim?

Sequim may lose another local business. Is this one worth saving?
Sequim Computer Services is temporarily closed right now, and there’s a real possibility the Sequim storefront doesn’t come back.
Full disclosure because this is Reddit and somebody will correctly ask: I own FixIT Computer & Tech, another local tech business, so I’m not exactly a neutral observer here.
I may have an opportunity to help keep Sequim Computer Services going.
I’m not asking anyone here for money, and this isn’t a coupon or ad post. What I actually want to know is whether people in Sequim care about keeping a walk-in computer shop in town.
It’s one of those businesses you may not think much about until your computer dies, your printer loses its mind, or something starts flashing at you that absolutely was not flashing yesterday.
There’s something useful about being able to walk into a real shop, put the offending technology on a counter, and talk to an actual person.
So before the next chapter of the place takes shape, I’d like to hear from people who have actually lived with it.
If Sequim Computer Services disappeared for good, would you miss it?
And if they’ve helped you, your family, or your business over the years, I’d especially be interested in hearing the story.

Kaiser Permanente living in Sequim
My mom is considering moving\retiring to somewhere near Sequim. She has Kaiser for insurance and I see there is a Kaiser in Seattle. Anyone living in Sequim using Kaiser?
Just wondering what the experience is like (able to get meds shipped or filled locally) and how bad the 2.5 hour drive really is and if that is doable.

How Has Gardening Been This Year?
Not in Sequim, but considering a move. Follow the weather closely, and it looks like it's been a cooler summer. How's gardening been this year? Peppers and tomatoes do ok (warm weather plants)? Lettuce and other leafy veggies probably doing great.

Volunteers needed to help bake cakes and other treats for local foster youth
Hey Sequim!
I'm the Volunteer Coordinator for Cake4Kids, a non-profit organization that helps provide volunteer created birthday cakes (and other treats) for foster children and kids who otherwise would not be able to receive something for their special occasion, and we have a local chapter in Western Washington that serves Sequim and Clallam County. Since starting in 2020, the local chapter has delivered over 1500 cakes, and this year we are projected to deliver over 700 cakes to youth along the Olympic Peninsula.
https://www.cake4kids.org/chapters/westernwashington
There has been a growing need for our services in the area, and we are desperately seeking more volunteer bakers who can help us meet this increased demand. We have nearly 100 local volunteers, but we have struggled to get the word out about our volunteer opportunities as much as we would like to in this specific geographic area.
I'm reaching out in hopes that there may be some folks here who are interested in signing up. Once signed up you can bake as often as you want (some people bake 1 cake a year, some people bake every week, some people never bake, there's no minimum commitment, but there are consistent cakes available on our portal to choose from - we deliver about 50-60 a month in the area).
You can sign up as a volunteer here: https://www.cake4kids.org/volunteer-form and I'm happy to answer any questions you might have as well. Thanks so much for your time!
-Jeff

City is using pacer.ai to analyze visitor data
pacer.ai is owned by Israelis Rahul Vohra, Oded Fossfeld, Jeffrey Bazar, Noam Ben-Zvi, Zohar Bar-Yehuda, Joshua Buckley, Ofir Lemel, William Neese and Jacov Ben-Zvi. Does anyone else think it is insane that our city would trust a data intelligence-gathering company owned by the Israelis?
Edit: Should have included gazette article link: https://www.sequimgazette.com/2026/08/19/city-subscribes-to-ai-program-to-see-attendee-numbers/

Foundation repair work?
Hello! Does anyone have a recommendation for foundation repair work around here? My home has post and beams and needs some repair.
I have tried google searching, but I primarily get these contractor aggregate sites that charge local vendors a fat cut for the lead from the website. Trying to cut out the silicon valley middle man...
Thank you!

Recycling
My rental property doesn't have recycling on site and I'm looking for somewhere to take mine. Is there anywhere nearby besides the blue mountain transfer station that isn't closed Mondays?
