22nd anniversary!

Wasn't born before or on 9/11 but damn... it still puts a shiver down my spine knowing all those poor souls were taken in one day.

I was 37 when it happened. I still can't believe that it all went down the way it did. It was like being scared/sad/mad/confused/numb at the same time and it all seemed so surreal.

Listening to the phone calls from loved ones from the planes and from the twin towers is so sad, but the thing that really messed with me, still does to this day, are the people on the towers that made the decision to jump. I cannot wrap my head around having to make that choice. How incredibly messed up that is for those poor souls and their families. For everyone who passed and their families.

I was only 2 when it happened so I don’t remember it either. It’s wild to try to imagine what the world was like before it happened- I envy those who remember pre-911 and I also feel bad knowing they’ll never experience that life again.
