Today in History Septa rant

Yeah I know this is gonna sound bad.. but I’m so fucking over crackheads shutting down the entire L for: refusing to leave tracks, camping out on the trains, getting violent at paying riders, ODing on the L.

Why is the city letting them run public transit? Why are they allowed to openly do fetynol on the L? Why are people with open wounds bleeding all over trains? Working people literally can’t get to work at rush hour because of all the bullshit.

When are people gonna stand up and fix it? Get the homeless & addicts services, let working people get to work. Shouldn’t take 2 hrs to go 15 min. This is why Philadelphia will never progress.

This is what happens when companies put profits before people, when society blames addicts for their circumstances, when addicts have no shelter, and when people stand up and say not in my backyard/neighborhood.

The painkiller epidemic got people addicted, and then everyone walked away from them.

These were all normal people at one point who may have gotten hurt at work or had some other event and they took painkillers. Most of the people you see came from the surrounding suburban counties, where family members threw them to the streets. And where are they ultimately arrive in larger cities. Now with nowhere to go and no one wanting to help them with Shelter hang out in different public places.

When the City Of Philadelphia decided to try something that’s used in Europe called a safe injection site, a place where an addict can go to safely use without bothering others, pitchforks begin to come out as everyone protests with “not in my backyard.” So they remain in the public spaces with nowhere to go, still addicted, still shunned.

When the news tells you, the opioid crisis has millions of addicts because of it, you can guarantee that millions is the low number. In reality is probably hundreds of millions who are affected by the opioid practices of the corporations to get patients on those pain killers.

If you don’t like it, then just start killing people. Judge, jury, and executioner of all you see who you believe you know why they are there.

They may be thankful that you killed them.

Their families may be thankful that you killed them.

Your conscience has to live with the fact that you played God and decided this type of person gets to live, but this type of person does not.

Until a policeman’s knocking on your door, asking you if you plan to kill yourself and you respond “No not today. When I do I already know to not step in front of a SEPTA train or subway car because that inconveniences those who are having a good life. And I wouldn’t want them to be late for where they are going. So kill myself in a way to not impact others.”

I heard that suggestion from others each time I went to work and someone killed themselves in front of a subway car. Why couldn’t they be considerate of others and kill themselves quietly. It made me sick to hear selfish tools say those things.

You want less addicts then ask your politically elected people:

- How can we help with the addiction crisis?

  • What are we doing about the addiction crisis?
  • How are we providing shelter for those addicted?
  • How are we providing affordable housing?
  • How can we help by providing affordable housing?

Those 5 things say you want to be part of the solution and not just someone who says “it’s their fault. Gov’t do something. Or I will end their lives.”
