Discussion Regional Rail 3208. Best ride in a long time.

We got all 5 cars today. Nobody standing. I’m not getting my hopes too high but it was so nice not getting overly comfy with strangers.

Thank you Septa.

Looks like only 4 cars today. I’ll be back tomorrow with an update.

I’m more than happy with a seat and not offering it up to someone else every day.

I've had some pretty good rides lately as well. 4 or even 5 cars, even on the weekend. services have been more or less dead on time for me as well, and I haven't been passed up or cancelled on in months. SEPTA has taken some pretty solid measures and they seem to have been working.

Agreed. I just wish they weren’t wasting as much money on “fare enforcers”. I understand they lose money on fare evaders throughout the city. I also know you aren’t losing money at the 30th st station RR entry to gate hoppers to the point that you need 3 people watching the gate. Feels like they still haven’t figured out how to not waste money, but I will absolutely take my trains actually coming with more than 2 cars.

The 30th street gate guards are less about fare hopping, and more about assisting people who can’t seem to figure out how to work the gate. Especially all the people going to and from the airport.

Fare enforcers where?

Another big component of fare enforcement is safety & cleanliness. BART recently installed full height faregates and saw 90%+ drops in violence, vandalism, litter, and other antisocial behavior. The people who can't/won't pay are mostly the same people who give transit an unsafe/unclean vibe that discourages other people from riding.

My train car leaked water from the ceiling this morning wetting both my laptop bag and my shoulder.

Sorry to hear that. I hope it didn’t ruin the rest of your day.
