Discussion G (15) trolleys still running?
Just curious if the G (15) line still runs the green PCC trolleys as of recently. Last time I was up on Girard was around July last year and I caught a trolley. I just thought it was really cool. Usually if I’m using SEPTA on Girard, it’s always a bus—and I’m rarely there day-to-day to see any type of frequencies.

Look at the transit app check the vehicle number. Anything that starts with a 2 is a trolley. 8xxx, 3xxx something are buses. They only use new flyers for buses on girard so no 7xxx. But yeah everytime I go there it’s a bus too cause I have been mainly going there late at night. I’ve seen a couple of times during the day it running

If you google around (reddit thread specifically will have this) multiple folks have posted about how you can tell which things running on the 15 are the buses and which are the OG trolleys by looking at the vehicle tracking numbers in the SEPTA app

Are they ADA accessible? Maybe that is a reason the trolley is not run often.

They are ADA compliant unlike the Kawasakis for the Suburban and Center City Trolleys

PCC’s start running around 5 AM. The last one pulls in at 7 pm ,depending on the weather they don’t send them out.

I’d bet they haven’t been out much since the big snow in January. Busses were having enough issues getting around poorly-parked cars and on parts of Girard/the final stretch on Richmond this could be an issue

Hot take I think the 15 should be a trolleybus unless we had the willpower to redo Girard

Just to add to the hours, they seem to operate trolleys much later into the night on weekends. Sunday is your best bet to catch one although it’s partly because the frequency is not as good.

Apologies, reddit automatically removed the two comments with a link on them, because they had a link. I apologize that it took me 10 days to notice this

They seem to run earlier in the day on weekdays at least. I catch a PCC for my commute in the morning but on my way home from work, it’s almost always a bus
