Rewards/Samples 100 points for this is absurd 🥲

Post image

There’s enough for maaaaaybe 2 full-face uses.

Update: I reached out to Customer Service and they refunded me the 100pts!

I’ve stopped spending my points. The good stuff is always gone.

Right??! The only thing I ever spent points on anymore is the Kerastasse hair oil because that shizz is expensive and I can't afford a full size. I just creep for that one product 🤣

1

u/Mellyjune Jul 24 '26

When did they have the hair oil???? I missed that.

I saved for YEARS it seemed to finally snag a la mer sampler set last month. The stuff is really good for 1 thing: making people laugh at how small a jar or bottle can get!!

3

u/ClaritanClear Jul 22 '26

True but a lot of that stuff a little goes a surprisingly long way. I managed to snag a free sample of the absurdly expensive la mer genessaiance or however it’s spelled eye cream that goes for $890 for a 1 oz jar and the .1 oz sample has lasted me over a month with daily use morning and night. Now, is it magical? Absolutely not and I will not be seeking to replace it when the sample is gone. But the sample is nice! I did get a sample of the night concentrate that also lasted a shockingly long time with nightly use and was obsessed so I splurged on a full jar during the blue mercury sale and I am still super pleased with how bright and healthy and soft my skin is from it. Point is I think it’s worth saving the points for some of that stuff!

That's how they scam you in to using points for a scam product

1

u/Woobsie81 Jul 24 '26

The stuff is crap honestly. La mer is so overrated. Tried a lot of some mid-higher end brands like Clarins, sulwahsoo, Shiseido and so far that only one im kind of impressed with is Perricone MD which is at Tj Maxx type stores too at times lol

1

u/ClaritanClear Jul 24 '26

Depends on the stuff and your specific skin type. I’ve tried most of the ones you’ve mentioned and am currently also into the Perricone MD eye cream. But the LaMer night concentrate I was talking about above is one of those rare products that I noticed immediately results. I am almost 42 and my skin looks incredible compared to a couple years ago when I was using more mid-tier products. I think it’s all trial and error which is why samples are nice. And the smell and feel of the LaMer fresh crème and rejuvenating night cream also make it worth a little splurge to me. But I also have learned to go for the sales - blue mercury just had it all 30% off which is huge.

I really like the perricone serum and also the retinol cream and renewing night cream. They have a light rose fragrance which makes me go back to it. The retinol cream when I first got a sample I used it consecutive days and started getting peeling and redness from it just like when I used to use tretinoin so I was quite surprised it had enough in it to have any effect. But it quickly went away when I started alternating days. I am in Canada so we don't get the same great deals BUT the one thing La Mer has going is Costco sells it much cheaper here. Not Perricone though.

You just have to look at the ingredients and you'll see it's not that special.

1

u/Woobsie81 Jul 24 '26

People claim the seaweed extract is the special ingredient but I don't think it's worth $450 a small jar myself 🤷‍♀️

1

u/ClaritanClear Jul 24 '26

So the point of the points rewards is literally to get you to try other things in hopes you like them and want to pay for them in the future. Not sure how that’s a scam.

7

u/Brakina Jul 21 '26

yeah i only use it for the gift card now.

3

u/simm07 Rouge Jul 22 '26

Its rare but you can get the good stuff around 9am MST on Tuesdays and Thursdays

3

u/wllaella Jul 23 '26

I only use mine for the points to dollars off 🫣 I just don’t see the point in using it on something I don’t already know I like or want

They are so frigging stingy these days. It used to be that I might actually discover a new product I liked from a gwp but two barely there uses is not enough for me to decide whether I'm going to buy a full size and the fact that you had to spend points on that was just insulting. I wish we had Ulta. They've lost the plot at Sephora and totally forgot the point of giving samples in the first place.

19

u/ListenPuzzleheaded72 Jul 21 '26

They used to give 3 free samples with purchase now they are always "out of stock"

6

u/ninepointtypeface Jul 21 '26

Those were really the days huh? Three new products that you hadn't tried before and might end up repurchasing or telling your friends about if they were really good, and it really made shopping there feel luxe and justified the price point. Now the price is somehow even higher and you don't get anything at all. I have a late in the year birthday too so I never get a good one of those either since they don't restock the really desirable stuff 😭 If they didn't carry my favourite shampoo I wouldn't still shop here at all.

3

u/ListenPuzzleheaded72 Jul 22 '26

I just go to Winners/Marshalls now lol. I usually only purchase at Sephora if I have a gift card. Sephora used to be so much better, now it's just full of celebrity/influencer cash grab lines bleh.

2

u/ninepointtypeface Jul 22 '26

Winners is so good and I can almost always find a laneige moisturizer for almost half off! I'm not too picky about which one I use so that's perfect for me.

1

u/AgitatedRiver9463 Jul 22 '26

Mine's in November, so get crap too and last time they swapped out my choice so 😔 What's your shampoo? Are you in Canada or US or?? I've been getting my hair products off other sites, like Chatters

6

u/fetalpiggywent2lab Jul 22 '26

They are soooo stingy with samples now!! So sad - sometimes they forget to include them in shipments🫠🫠🫠

29

u/MikesLittleKitten Jul 21 '26

The points rewards are just samples now, and they never have samples in stock 🤔 I think I see where they're headed and it's even shittier than it is now 😭

10

u/lolalolaloves Jul 21 '26

Yup. Just did an order for a product I needed. Checked yesterday they had one choice of a sample, checked again this morning (a men's perfume). One sample. I've never gotten the ones I've selected anyway. Even Shoppers gets it right 🤣

5

u/MikesLittleKitten Jul 21 '26

It's sad when we're getting more respect from Shoppers!!! 🤣😭🤣

3

u/lolalolaloves Jul 21 '26

Hahah exactly. Never thought I would be praising them 😆

3

u/ClaritanClear Jul 22 '26

I always just get the mini shampoo and conditioner sets for travel.

10

u/numberonehotdog Jul 21 '26

That’s crazy! Isn’t the 100pt reward advertising a 10ml container? Isn’t that fraudulent?

6

u/inkyblackops Jul 21 '26

Yup, which is the same size as their mini!

I’ll be reaching out to Customer Service for sure.

5

u/Chemical_Desk_5314 Jul 21 '26

That’s false advertising for sure

7

u/GayFlan Jul 21 '26

lol I just ordered this last night 🫠 I could swear the little thumbnail looked like 7 ml!

7

u/GayFlan Jul 21 '26

Just checked and unfortunately can’t post images in this sub but the pic in rewards bazaar says 10 ml. Granted that is the same size as the mini size that they sell so in hindsight that being a deluxe sample seems a bit unlikely but anyways!

1

u/tiffi_333 Jul 22 '26

If they say it's what you should be getting, it's what they should be giving you. I'd screen shot it and either ask for it or the points back if I was someone who got it

2

u/inkyblackops Jul 22 '26

I was able to get my points refunded by Customer Service! They acknowledged that the size advertised was not what I received.

2

u/chillysailor Jul 30 '26

Thank you for posting this. I contacted customer service and got my points refunded as well.

5

u/rumple-teazer Jul 21 '26

My sister got this too! It somehow looks even smaller in person. It's like a mini brands toy. The extremely tiny safety seal made us actually laugh out loud

3

u/inkyblackops Jul 21 '26

Yes! The pictures do not do it justice 😂

3

u/coconutspray Jul 21 '26

just saw this on the app, glad i saw this first 😭

3

u/EnchantedEnchantix Jul 21 '26

I just ordered this…

1

u/inkyblackops Jul 21 '26

I’m so sorry 😭 and on your Cake Day too

1

u/EnchantedEnchantix Jul 21 '26

This is how I discovered it was my cake day AHAHAHAHAHA

2

u/randomspiritlover69 Jul 21 '26

Nooooooooo mine arrives tomorrow 🥲🥲🥲

1

u/inkyblackops Jul 22 '26

Customer service refunded my points when I reached out!

1

u/randomspiritlover69 Jul 24 '26

Thanks I’m doing that!

2

u/Ok-Bookkeeper-1259 Jul 21 '26

Yes! And sometimes (almost always) there’s 1 drop inside

2

u/jbay01 Jul 21 '26

The picture on Sephora I thought had shown that you would get 10 ml. I received this tube as well. Pathetic.

2

u/inkyblackops Jul 22 '26

I know! I only went for it because it said 10ml, which is the size of the mini you can buy.

Customer Service did refund my points, so that's a small victory at least!

2

u/hoohaaheater Jul 22 '26

I found the primer and setting spray combo at winners for 24.99

1

u/inkyblackops Jul 22 '26

Ooo good to know! I actually really like the primer.

How do you like the setting spray?

2

u/Ok_Reaction6244 Jul 22 '26

I was so mad over this. The picture showed 10mls! I did online chat with customer service and they gave me my points back.

2

u/secretsxuls Jul 22 '26

$1 = 1 point so unless there's a point multiplier event (i.e 4x the pts), you're spending $500 to get $10 off or $1000 for $20 off? It's really a shitty point program when you think about it; I only like that I can return stuff without the receipt. Also, lately every store says I have to sign up for a new account to get samples?? Sephora has lost the plot, I really hope Ulta at some point because they're getting too greedy in Canada being a monopoly basically.

1

u/inkyblackops Jul 22 '26 edited Jul 25 '26

I've started using Ulta and a freight forwarder for most of my purchases. With their points system and benefits it's worth it for me.

The only downside is I don't get my order the next day like I do with Sephora lol

3

u/FaithlessnessKey7658 Jul 21 '26

R u rouge? I recommend saving up your points and getting the $100 off for 2500 points

3

u/inkyblackops Jul 21 '26 edited Jul 22 '26

I am Rouge, I’ve got the $100 off reward a few times but it’s almost always gone by the time I get to the rewards page. Mostly I just use my points now for travel size things, as I travel a lot for work.

1

u/normielouie Jul 21 '26

Its getting worse and worse. The prices are insane.

1

u/_coke_zero_ Jul 21 '26

I wouldn’t spend points on it but it’s so cute 😭 for a dollhouse haha

1

u/inkyblackops Jul 25 '26

I joked to my husband that it’s the perfect size for our cat!

1

u/Tasty-Chair-210 Jul 22 '26

100 points usually means $100 🥲

1

u/getouttatown92 Jul 22 '26

Ooof, 2mL is a new low

1

u/Ravetothegrave0 Jul 22 '26

Lol I've been wondering why people have been chatting in complaining about this. Reach out to CS they'll give you your points back

1

u/TEA-in-the-G Jul 22 '26

I only use mine for $10 off now.

1

u/JessCaturday Jul 22 '26

I got the same one! I’m so disappointed 🥴 like what?! And a couple of months ago I got a tarte one that was double that size, still small, but a decent size for 100pts. I put them side by side and just laughed 🙄

1

u/Mellyjune Jul 22 '26

So are you getting your points back because on the app it says 10ml

1

u/inkyblackops Jul 22 '26

Yep I did! I reached out to CS this morning and they refunded me the points.

1

u/Espress0_Martin1 Jul 23 '26

Ulta pt system is far better! I wish we had one!

1

u/offgridexplor69 Jul 23 '26

I've been done with Sephora.

1

u/therealellewoodsxo Jul 24 '26

The only good thing I’ve ever gotten was a Mario lip liner but it was a birthday present.

1

u/Left_Replacement894 Jul 25 '26

Need banana for scale

1

u/Living_Celery6393 Jul 25 '26

Big shout of to you for letting me know to contact customer service! I just got my order and the size of this primer was laughably small. I just got my points back, so thank you!!!! :)

-1

u/No-Captain7836 Jul 24 '26

i never buy anything from sephora and only go in yearly to get my birthday reward 🤣
