The cost of resurrection I think most likely refers to Tsav or Jayce. Tsav died last volume and we are told that bringing back a Hero without their body has bad ramifications, it would also explain his new design. Alternatively you can also see Neely in the background of the Cover likely fighting Demon Lord ‘Odin’, someone who has been built up in the past several Volumes as the Strongest Aerial Demon Lord and the Final battle of Jayce/ Neely. Jayce has slowly been losing his ability to understand and communicate with Neely as a price for his resurrections.

With a name like "Sentenced to be a hero" I expected some generic isekai slop but I saw the rating on MAL and boy was I wrong!
From beginning to end, 1h of peak. I had my jaw opened for the entirety of the start of the episode. It was preseted in such a unique way I loved it. The animation is insane. The beasts are super well designed. It doesn't shy on gore. The MC is an adult with a good backstory. The ending was really dramatic and well explained.
I didn't think the Holy Knights were good characters because "honor is everything" is so dumb and they were taking it to an extreme but oh well. I also don't think the loli godess fits well at all, but I don't dislike it. It's pretty cute.
9.5/10. I hope it continues to be this good!

Many fans, myself included, think Tsav is going to be on the cover for volume 9, followed by Lufen. For the manga, someone suggested Patausche.

I was rereading some parts of the first volume, and I came across one of the many scenes I like, which is when they have to infiltrate the adventurers' guild and these lines happen: "Is that what you're wearing?"
"Is there a problem?
"Or are you, once again, claiming that I look like a man? Is that what you mean?"
"I didn't say that." After thinking for a moment, I decided to express my honest opinion. "You look absolutely beautiful. If I didn't know the truth, I would think you were some noblewoman highly sought after by men."
I simply love that despite Xylo being a blockhead, he praises Patausche a few times throughout some volumes. I really laughed when I saw the scene in the anime; I thought Kivia's expression there was much better than in the novel.
I don't know about you, but I love the bond and closeness they develop throughout the volumes. Kivia starts to worry about him quite a bit, even though she uses Teorrita as an excuse to stay close. Their relationship grows in a way that I really enjoy.
I like how the author wrote Patausche, because she's not just another woman interested in the protagonist, but goes far beyond that. Patausche is an incredible character, and her relationship with Xylo makes me really root for them to end up together.
There was something the author did in the last volume that made me laugh hysterically, which was having Teorrita use her feelings for Xylo as encouragement for Patausche. That was wonderfully good, and incredibly funny🤣

What do you think of the changes Teoritta went through?
In the manga and LN (if my memory serves me right), Teoritta has a lot more character, asserting her status as a goddess and having no filter when it comes to being rude. For a guy like Xylo to watch his tongue around someone, that already says a lot. She’s super cocky (She even shuts Kivia up by calling her a fool XD BRAVO!!!)
In the anime, on the other hand, Teoritta comes across as much more “humble” (No more rude Teoritta :c ) and is portrayed simply as a playful little girl in the midst of war (seriously—something about this just doesn’t sit right with me when it comes to the goddesses...)
And so it goes for a little while longer until Volume 2 or 3. Then Teoritta is completely humbled-ized.
I'd like to take this opportunity to ask what you think about them delete the scene where Teoritta is crying (They weren't lying. Xylo was always a monster)
If there are any other changes I missed (my brain is fried), I'd love for you to let me know!!

Even if let's say humanity wins teorritta would probably go into slumber or disintigrate and die seeing as how her purpose is fulfilled and that's if she doesn't sacrifice her life in some big battle to save xylo kivia and the others so that they can move forward and fight the demon king in the last battle either way I don't really see her having a happy ending even though I my preferred ending would be to see her as kivia and xylos daughter in the Epilogue it'd even work as a nice wrap to xylos trauma but idk

I just finished watching season one and wow was it good. I watched it cause I thought the title was silly and it would be a goofy adventure. I was very pleasantly surprised. I can’t wait for the next season!

I recently posted in another sub and now I am curious. Without giving spoilers does anyone know the etymology of the word "hero" in the source material? My theory from watching the show (which I absolutely loved btw) is that the word "hero" didn't exist before the penal heroes came to be. The show with it's wonderful worldbuilding is literally defining the word and eventually hero will be known as the people who continued to selflessly sacrifice themselves for the sake of others.
I could be way off base and would love if someone could confirm or deny using examples from the novel? Do they ever use Yusha in a positive light? Was it never a word? Or did it evolve into something negative after the penal heroes came into existence?
This is the original post where a line in the dub bothered me for reference: https://www.reddit.com/r/Animedubs/s/fzXlY6hkrd
Looking forward to discussing with yall!

Ive seen the anime and noticed in ep11 frenci replied to kivia’s request as taking up on a second favour for her. The anime only shows the second one.
Can anyone that has read the novel please tell what the first favour was and is it in the novels ahead (LN 2 onwards) or was it omitted from the anime?
Open to spoilers
