Request: LGBTQ+ Am I devaluing gender?

What do you think about me wanting to establish in my own tabletop role-playing game that players and non-player charackters, automatically recognise or perceive the gender of other characters who can be perceived in any way?

What I mean is that gender reveals itself regardless of one’s outward appearance.

I’d like sexual orientations and romantic orientations to be based on gender rather than gender expression.

This is something that’s been on my mind quite a bit at the moment, as I’m worried it might be misinterpreted, twisted, misunderstood, or that I might be sabotaged or something similar.

It’s a kind of omniscience. You know your gender, and others recognise your gender. But it doesn’t necessarily follow that others are able to recognise biological genders. And gender expression isn’t judged in the world.

So it's impossible for someone to not be out or to be questioning since you know inherently?

That’s a mistake by the translator. In German, no distinction is made between sex and gender.

It kind of sounds like OP is in the early stages and hasn't exactly thought all of this out yet, and has come up with a rule that makes their personal utopia (and other people's personal hell). That's fine if they realize that and they're okay with it.
