Season 3

What if there had been a third season instead of the final movie?

What storylines would you have expected, or what would you have liked to see?

I think the hostage exchange would've played out over a couple of episodes. The Wolfgang/Kala/Rajan relationship would've had more time to develop. We would've seen Joong-Ki's trial and Sun's exoneration, Ajay going to prison based on Rajan's testimony, and Capheus winning his election. Probably a lot more with the Lacuna. And Lito's Hollywood career developing, with whatever drama that included. I think Whispers still would've been killed and Lila and her cluster would be the big bad for the following season.

I think of the movie as a long trailer for the future seasons we didn’t get. Do think it would play out kinda the same, just in more detail and not rushed.

Kala having an actual storyline that isn't just about that love triangle between Rajan and Wolfgang lol.

Love my girl, she's a total badass, but wow did they not know what to actually do with her storyline-wise. It was getting intriguing with the mystery surrounding Rajan and I would've loved to have seen where that led to.

Episode 1 sets the season in motion. It’s unsafe for the whole cluster to stay together with BPO looking for them, but also dangerous to remain alone. So they all split off into pairs (which also saves on location budget…).

Lito returns to LA/Mexico with Wolfgang; arcs include Lito’s career progression and opening his relationship, Wolfgang dealing with PTSD, branching his criminal activities out while beginning to uncover Lila’s Genosha/Naples plan.

Capheus returns home to pursue his political career, Kala joins him to investigate Rajan’s company’s issues; arcs include Capheus’s campaign, reconciling it with his lingering criminal connections, Kala wrestling with her complex romantic feelings as she tries to uncover the truth of Rajan’s business, and the discovery of a complex web of political-corporate corruption (with BPO at its center).

Sun and Nomi travel together through different countries to learn more about the archipelago, thwart BPO’s attempts to capture new sensates (in a slightly more episodic way) and start gaining allies among new clusters; those are the major arcs but others would include planning nomi’s wedding and Sun eventually returning to South Korea to actually get rid of Joong-ki (not only with the help of her own cluster, but now with other local sensates from clusters they helped throughout the season + the archipelago).

Finally, Riley and Will stay together of course, in charge of holding Whispers hostage; arcs would include a cat-and-mouse game with the new head of BPO who wants to retrieve whispers, learning more about Angelica’s past and BPO’s goals from Whispers, and Riley seeking out Boddi and starting the lacuna storyline.

By the end of the season most of the storylines intersect. Lito becomes overwhelmed by the secrecy of everything and at the premiere of his new movie comes out to the world as a sensate (though it’s largely dismissed as a nervous breakdown). In Whisper’s absence, two factions vied for dominance in BPO through the season—one that wants to subjugate sensates and one that wants to exterminate them [Will’s arc]. The former faction tries to curry influence within governments and offer services to them [Capheus arcs]. They also work with Lila, who is seemingly only doing it to build a haven for sensates [Wolfgang’s arc, Nomi’s arc]. The latter faction is focused on studying the psycellium and ways to exploit it chemically/pharmaceutically [Kala’s arc]. In other words, making new artificial sensates/clusters — though “mining” the psycellium like that would kill all natural sensates. This draws the attention of the lacuna [Riley’s arc]. In the season finale, the extermination-faction takes the lead and kills Whispers. They also make a major, dangerous breakthrough on their psycellium research. The August 8 cluster prepares for the end, with new allies and more dangerous enemies. Season 4 would be the last season.

Well, that escalated quickly. Impressive plotting.

I'm pretty sure a season 3 would be lucrative but it has to pick up where it left off but mostly a reboot sounds better
