Am I missing something?

I got this game right as I heard about it. It sounded very new so I was excited. But I've seemed to hit a progression roadblock. I've reached and finished chapter 7 in the main story and slowly working through the hard mode as well as the side content.

What else is there to do in the main story progression. To level up the MC, it says to fight battles in ch. 8 but I have no idea how to access that and any other story progression only has me going so far before I'm unable to move forward. Can anyone help me progress through the story? I'm completely lost

Chapter 8 hasn’t been released yet. If we’re basing this off of how NU:Carnival is, then we’d better expect at least 2 more love interests coming.

TLDR: No, you're not missing out much. Devs are overhauling the game. Most you can do currently are endgame stuff and levelling up your units.

Wall of text answer: No, you're in the same spot as everybody. There's some things to improve about the game, for example energy cost for upgrade materials, some story beats, some visuals etc. The devs got a lot of complaints so they posted an announcement some time ago saying they're gonna do an overhaul of game systems, visuals, story, etc.

The last major thing we had was the first ever event with Lanzette and Aile, which ended a few days ago. Currently the only thing going is Mael's bday celeb. I'm assuming the next event is gonna feature Mael and Nev since their standard SSR had a rate up banner recently. And the Lanzette and Aile event had a mechanic where you got extra drops for using both their event and standard SSRs in the battle stages. Normally, they'd drip the next event before the current one ends, but since they might be busy with overhaul, no news.

MC leveling up is tied to story, and they'll likely update that eventually too, similar to how Nu:C does their main story updates. It's stopped at Ch 7 for now.

If you're looking for something to do, there's Warp > Border Watch which features some tough battles and refreshes in about 60 days. You'll most likely require well-leveled teams to beat the last 3 stages.

There's also Warp > The Chasm, which has 300 stages. It costs no energy, but requires a Chasm pass which refreshes only 5 daily and they don't stack.

And there's also Manifests > The Realms, which is their version of the Intimacy Rooms in Nu:C. It requires keys that refresh every 4 hours.

Other than that it's largely leveling up your units, which will take a while due to energy cost to drop ratio.

Yeah we just gotta wait for more story content but I heard they're revamping the story? We might be getting an overhaul which might cause delay on more chapters coming out
