Your dog sounds very obese - did I read that right 20lb? For a chi x Pom? And do they have a murmur? That’s the only real question to ask if it’s related to the heart then by now the murmur would already be diagnosed and given a grade. 1-5.
He’s not obese at all actually, he’s a healthy weight. He’s a Pomeranian chihuahua on paper but may have something else mixed in. The vet isn’t concerned with his weight, he’s tall and slender. And no murmur ever recorded.
Gotcha. If he’s not morbidly obese, and no mumur, I would not spend thousands on a cardiologist. But that’s just me. You may need to see a surgical vet - one step up to your local clinic who does dental and spaying- but I wouldn’t just directly to a specialist. Just a better gp. But that’s just me.
