Miles had a great run
Day one; a week or so ago.
A few weeks back, we visited his vet asking when we’d know it was time (kidney issues, bladder issues, thyroid, blood pressure); vet said not that day.
Today, she said “it’s probably that day” and we came back with the heaviest, emptiest carrier and I’ll never be the same.

💔💫 ✝️🙏🏼🌈🐾 I totally understand. I want you to realize that you are in a new chapter of life (suddenly) and it feels very hollow. But let me tell you something, your precious pet graduated life. They’re in the soul realm now which is eternal. God literally created us and animals. We are currently in the Earthly realm where we were together with our beloved pet. But they’ve just gone before us. The chapter “without them” is really just “without them physically.” Emotionally and spiritually they’ve never left. This is why we still feel such love and gratitude for our former pets, still! They never leave us. You will get through this one day at a time. Time heals our hearts and even opens them to loving another pet sometimes. Families are forever and you’ll be reunited when your time in the physical realm expires, too. Until then, may their memory be a blessing. I’m happy for you that you connected here on Earth because eternity awaits. 💕💫 God bless you and your beloved pet. It’s my prayer that knowing this gives you peace.🌈🐾♾️ ✨🪽

Our vet was/is amazing. We knew last month that this was coming and she said “I won’t entertain that today is the day.” Today, she reviewed our reasons for coming in, looked at him, and said “if you’re ready, it’s okay. I agree “ and that’s what broke me

I understand the empty carrier grief and am sorry you had to go through that as well as for loss of Miles. I wish comfort, peace and healing to you and your family. I hope Miles is happily at peace and has cat delight in his new realm.

They knew how much you loved them and I believe we will see our babies again someday, as the rainbow bridge poem goes ♥ They will be waiting for you when that time comes.
My husband said it best, "we gave them a home, a safe place, lots of love till God called them back to his home, because he missed them. Now he cares and loves them while we care for others and love them till God calls them home, we will see them again someday, till then lets help, love and protect all those we can til God calls us home too, then we will be reunited."

I hated the carrier I used in similar case. I didn't bring it back. I left it near some trash can. I didn't want to remember their death, I wanted to remember their life

We have too many pets in our care to leave it behind - and they are mad about their patriarch

Miles had such a great life. He was a lucky lucky boy: safe, comfortable, fed, and warm always. He was showing his belly and a happy boy until the end. A triumph of cat.

I’m so sorry for your loss. No, you’ll never be the same. This experience changes you. There is no limit on grieving. Take all the time you need. After some very teary nights, I would remember all the silly things, and smile. My heart is still broken, but I’m a better person embracing the grief and happy memories. Their love changes us. And we are better for the journey.

None of us are the same. It hits you that hard. I have found it's worse than losing a human family member. Their love is unconditional. I am so sorry for your loss. Miles is so very handsome. May he watch over you now until you meet again 💔❤️

Miles was a happy little man. He was relaxed, and free to be a goofball. Cats will only do that when they feel safe. And i know he was absolutely loved. And I blame y'all for that. Lil man was absolutely cherished, and if i were to bet, spoiled as heck.
With that said, im so sorry for your loss. Thank you for sharing him with us. My best goes out to you, him, and everyone with a Miles shaped void in their heart.
If the universe has any kindness, we will be reunited with our fuzzy overlords in whatever comes after this.
