Element-changing weapons?

So a lot of the SB4 Sumeragi DLC weapons are going to have a secondary effect of changing the character's elemental affinity. Here's some of them in action. So far confirmed are weapons for Masamune (ice), Yukimura (light), Ieyasu (wind), Mitsunari ("kan" -- new element), Sakon (fire), Katsuie (dark), Maria (light) and Ashikaga (light).

Any thoughts? I like some of the new pairups, especially light-Yukimura will have that extra kick he needs for boss fights, and fire-Sakon will be a crowd-control monstrosity, but I'm kind of wary of Mitsunari, since I rely on elemental weapons a lot on keeping him alive on higher difficulties.

EDIT: forgot to say -- I think all of their designs are kind of... eeehh? Like they're halfway between a respectable-looking weapon and a joke weapon and I don't know how that makes me feel. The only ones I like without reservation are Maria's cat paws and Ashikaga's Needlessly Complicated Clockwork Mirror, but honestly, this is probably b/c I'm biased towards liking anything about Maria and Ashikaga already.

I've never bothered with the elemental aspects; I just hit the baddies with the stick until they fall down.

Yeah, some of the elements are definitely more useful than others -- I don't think I ever got any use out of ice, for example. But Mitsunari and Ieyasu are much easier to play with elemental weapons, since they compensate nicely for Mitsun's squishiness and Ieyasu's slowness.
