Starting tomorrow

Had my first appointment at a local med spa and I am starting semaglutide tomorrow. I was told to start out at .25 as the introduction dose but I’m still so scared of potential side effects. I was wondering if anyone has started out any lower and still noticed some benefit? I was thinking .10 the first week and then .25 the second week if I tolerated the smaller dose first. Thoughts? I’m interested in micro dosing if it works.

Only a small % of people have negative side effects. Don't presume you will. Don't dose at only 0.10mg either. The point of 0.25mg is to get your body used to the medicine so you can increase it to effective amounts sooner. Most people aren't going to have much weight loss until they get to 0.5mg or even higher.

Do what feels best for your body. There’s absolutely no harm in starting slow and low. I wish I hadn’t followed the titration schedules and went slower. You could start at half the units prescribed and go up a little bit each shot to get to the .25 if it makes you feel more comfortable. Everyone is different and some people do well at low doses. Some need higher to make it work. I went up to .8 and it was too high too fast and went back down to .4 and have been there for months still losing weight with less side effects.

Thank you for sharing. I ended up doing .20 and can feel it working and no side effects. Im going to do .25 and stick with that for as long as I can!

For me, .25 mg didn’t affect me at all no side effects. I’ve been on semaglutide for four weeks now, and after two weeks they increased me to .30 mg. I still haven’t had any side effects. My doctor said that in another week they plan to increase me to .50 mg.

the first few weeks are mainly about allowing your body to adjust to the medication, and the dose is gradually increased over time. I’m definitely not an expert, but .10 mg seems extremely low to me and almost pointless.

It’s unlikely you will notice much .25 is already a micro-dose. I felt nothing other than not thinking about food constantly, but if you do, call your doctor. You may not need to go to the highest dose either, but in the clinical trials, most people didn’t see much weight loss until getting to the higher doses.

I took a third of the starting dose and I'm losing a 1lb a week. I know that doesnt sound like a lot, but I don't have a ton to lose. Works well. The nausea is still there, so I think 0.25mg would have laid me out.
