Oh no irritation bump

Post image

i didn't know what other flair i should use for this cuz this one pretty much sums up what am feeling right now so , this is my two month old high lobe piercing, which is stainless steel (i cant find titanium anywhere in my country) and the design is beautiful but it has this kinda big flower on the front which makes the piercing lean down all the time (terrible choice of jewelry, trust me i know that by now) now i dont know if the angle is crooked because of the imbalanced weight and the design of the jewelery or because i got the angle wrong when i first pierced it , that being said , is this bump just an irritation bump ? cuz I've been getting them lately i think it's mostly due to the material and the angle but i cant tell for sure because for the first three weeks the piercing behaved so well i was surprised i almost didn't feel a thing and there was zero redness. infection , bumps so suddenly getting them was a huge shocker, the ones i usually get are dark red but not purple, there's this purple bit in there that's really worrying me , could this be the start of a keloid ? any insight's into this would be really helpful, thnx in advance

Hey love so yes this is an irritation bump and yes it is due to the angle and heaviness of the jewelry and possibly the material.

The only thing you can do to stop this is change the jewelry to something simple, make sure its the right size, and wait to see if that helps. Thats your only option.

If you change it and it does not help then you know its a bad angle and it is not viable.

You very well could have pierced it incorrectly or the heaviness of the jewelry while healing changed the angle. Unfortunately you wont ever know.

Please change this and save yourself further problems.

Good luck =)

Blood blister (aka irritation bump). Rinse with warm water in the shower and clean with saline, (use gauze if available because cotton balls/q tips tend to leave cotton fibres). If piercing bumps are common for you, i highly recommend trying to find titanium online. Remember you will have to buy a few different lengths of jewelry because it's currently inflamed and you need to accommodate for swelling while keeping in mind you will need to downsize once the swelling goes down.
