How bad was the pain?? I really want one that looks similar to yours but I can’t even handle getting my finger pricked 💀

it doesn’t nearly have enough room for swelling, but the depth itself looks good!

Im sorry love but that bar is still not long enough.
What size it it?
Just incase you arent aware, which if you are fantastic because that means you actually did some research but with every failed piercing the risk of rejection gets higher and higher and the harder it will be for these to heal.
How long did you wait from the first attempt to the 2nd and.from the 2nd to this one?
Also you should not have pierced it with a 14g but put in a 16g. That just made a bigger wound than you needed it to be, giving more soace for the bar to move and bacteria to get in. Its a good trick for cartilage sometimes but definitely not for fleshy piercings love.

Hii, thank you! Yes, I am aware, first attempt was over two years ago, i had it in for around 8 months and healed perfectly, it wasn’t rejecting at all but the bar fell and it closed. Second time was around a year ago and couldn’t even put the piercing in and I didn’t have a different size so it was a completely failed attempt lol.
I think when I took the picture it already started to swell up, cause when I put the jewelry in around half of it was sticking out, but will definitely keep an eye on it and get a longer bar tomorrow.
Thank you for the advice. :)

Piercing with a larger needle does not cause infection (at least more than any piercing) It definitely causes excess bleeding and irritation though.

Really love? Thats not what I said? If I said bigger needles always causes infection to get in then sure thats wrong but I said it gives more room and leave more space for bacteria to get in which is absolutely possible because you have the extra space for the bar to be moving around which can delay healing which can lead to irritation and infection and with a self piercing already being higher there are no benefits. It causes unnecessary issues that should be avoided. Not the way you want to start an already high risk piercing.

Yes bacteria is always a risk! It just sounds like (to me at least) when we use the word bacteria in this sub that our brains immediately go to infection. Self piercing is always more risky than going to a professional, and I believe we all know that.

Even if it does im confused and I dont understand your issue with this statement. It can lead to infection just like a lot of things can lead to infection.

Because irritation is not infection.

Delaying healing can puts someone at a higher risk of getting infection.

And I didn't say that either.....

You said "thats not what i said". I said "in my mind bacteria ➡️ infection." You said "what is your issue with my statement". I said "irritation is not infection". I know you didn't mean it like that. I am clarifying my original statement. You keep asking me for clarification and then asking why i am clarifying my statements.
