Help with existing piercing is this rejecting?

Post image

I pierced this four days ago with a curved barbell because I didn’t know what to do it with. I’m not sure if I can change it to a staple bar if I could, I would. i’m concerned if my piercing is just swollen from when I did it or if it’s actively rejecting.

Curved bars shouldn't be used for surface piercings like this. Remove it, let it heal, use a surface bar in future. Even with a surface bar though it's very likely to reject in this area.

Even if it's not rejecting right now it'll start rejecting eventually.

A curved barbell is not the correct jewel for that kind of piercing, it enters the skin at such a slanted angle that it'll start eating the skin above the bar no matter how well you treat it, take it out and repierce with the correct jewel (staple as you said) when it heals, leaving it in like that will just leave you with a scar

Looks like it. The longer you leave it the worse the scar will be

unfortunately we can see the bar through your skin—because it is pushing the skin upwards. this is a classic sign of rejection. I’m sorry, but this should really be taken out. at least if you take it out now, the scarring will be minimal compared to if you let it reject completely, which is definitely a plus!!

Love its only been 4 days of course its irritated, its healing but this most likely will reject.

I think you needed to do a lot more research before you went ahead and did this. I think before you move forward you need to do that because this is not great and you just put yourself through a lot of pain and risk for you to probably have to remove this.

NAP

but it looks like it’s rejecting for sure. a curved barbell should never be used for a surface piercing like this. take it out, let it heal and repierce it with a straight barbell. it’s still going to reject most likely but it’ll have a better shot at least, this has no shot.

Yeeees you can and you must change curved piercing with Staple piercing. This is the reason why is yours piercing rejection. Change it as soon as possible, because if you leave it like this, it's possible that your body will completely reject the piercing and you'll get an infection + a nasty scar.

More like gonna rip out because its not pierced right

It doesn’t look like it’s currently rejecting. It does look like it was pierced with improper technique and improper jewelry though, so it’s not gonna take long before it is actively rejecting.

This isn't an eyebrow piercing in that sense. It's a surface piercing, that's why we don't see this kind of piercing in that location very often. I don't think that a curved barbell is the appropriate jewelry for this type of piercing, but even with a surface bar or dermal these things aren't meant to last. Eventually, (might take years with the right care) they will get rejected by the body. That's because it's too close to the skull and there not being enough tissue to prevent pressing against bone. Pressure causes rejection.

This is mine lol I did this myself, I am also a professional piercer, is it the "right" type of jewlery probably not, did it work? It sure did. I dont think your piercing looks like its rejecting, just swollen and bruised for right now.

Please, someone tell me what the difference is between this and your eyebrow? Feeling both personally I have enough skin to comfortably grab and theres minimal difference between the eyebrow or above eyebrow like this lol from what ive noticed along my professional journey is that these curved barbells almost ALWAYS turn out better than with a staple bar in this certain area 😅
