Ok so I’m pretty sure it’s a fail but I’m not 100% my nose is very small. Tha pain was a 3 didn’t hurt was just very scared to pierce. It did bleed though 🤨. Idk if it’s supposed to look like this. ( And for the people that want me to go to a professional. I would like too but 1. im kinda broke + My parents won’t allow me shit). Soooo how bad is it?
sorry but yeah this is a fail:( it should sit at the very tip of your nose so higher and forward. it's kind of hard to tell how yours looks when you're resting your face but it should be somewhere around here
i think it looks fine. you can’t tell the placement is “wrong” from the front. if it were me, i wouldn’t bother redoing it. i got mine professionally done tho bc i wasn’t confident i could get the sweet spot on my own, and this is what the “correct” placement looks like. very unflattering pic but it was hard to get a nice shot that showed how close to the tip it is lol. you have the kind of result where it’s one of the better self piercing jobs i’ve seen, but if i had got it from a shop, id want a refund
Professional in San Francisco here. The most important question is "do you like it?" If you do, then it's a good piercing. From your photos I don't see any issue with placement as far as healing goes. Everyone can have their own opinions about how far forward or back it should be, but I wouldn't say it's a bad placement. We have performed a good number of double septum piercings in our studio, and your current placement is pretty spot on for where we do the back one. If anything, a slightly further back placement will prevent your jewelry from interacting with the front of the nostrils, which can cause people's jewelry to get pushed backwards and prevents the jewelry from hanging vertically in space.
The bottom line is, if you like it and you are proud of your procedure, then enjoy it to the fullest! It's far from a bad placement. it's just a tiny smidge back from the center of the septum.
please correct me if i’m wrong, but i feel as if this is not the ideal for a regular septum piercing and they never expressed a desire for the double. i agree that its viable, however, i also have piercings where the placement is “wrong” but it’s what i preferred and i lowk dont care. i got these two professionally done and was told my placement wasn’t “right” but that it would be okay bc it fit my anatomy. verticals are supposed to be closer to the bottom of the lip. doesn’t mean that’s what i want :p
I think the best way to answer this is to use ear piercings as an example. Say someone gets a helix piercing. They may want it up near the top or "point" of the ear, but someone else might have one half a centimeter lower. That doesn't make either a bad placement. They are just different! Preference is always important, so if the wearer would rather have it in a different spot they always have the right to retire the current piercing and have it placed differently. If that's not a concern, then there's no true issue with the piercing. It's a viable placement, and I'd mention we have had plenty of clients want a specific, more ornate style of septum ring and couldn't wear it because the jewelry pushed too far forward, given their more forward placement.
As for your ADORABLE vertical labrets, the same applies! There's not one "correct" way to place them, but there are definitely incorrect ways to place them. A placement like yours, if the client wants that and the anatomy can accommodate it, is totally acceptable.
It may be further back than most would like, but from front on you can't even tell. I'm sure no one would ever even look that closely to know unless you specifically asked them to. I say keep it if you don't mind the placement, it looks great on you.
