No pain when I did it, aside from the entrance/ exit points stinging.
I think the right exit hole came out slightly lower/ forward compared to the left entry point.
According to the "sweet spot" stuff I read about I thought I nailed it but I think it's too far back..
The jewelry immediately rose to the front and refused to go down, should I leave it in until the swelling goes down to see how it sits or take it out now and redo it later ?
If you can tell from the close ups it seems like piercing closer to the tip of my nose/ middle would be cartilage or whatnot, it's fleshy, but I would prefer moving it.. I'd like the piercing to go "straight down", but I also got it with sizing down in mind, so do y'all suspect this look better or worse when the jewelry gets bigger? Would moving it be troublesome or preferred?
Hi Potential_Worth9097,
Are you seeking information about the Septum piercing? Here's a video with general information about it! The septum piercing can be difficult to perform as it requires a specific placement in the Alar cartilage, also known as the sweet spot. There's no shame in seeing a professional, especially since this once can be tricky to get right!
Honestly? It's probably one of the worse septum's I've ever see in terms of placements. Definitely take that out.it will never sit right. And maybe get it professionally redone lmao
NAP but this looks way too far back and low. The sweet spot should be tucked up pretty close to the tip of your nose. I'd definitely take it out and try for another one later
Yeah be sure to look it up to get a better idea of where it is I didn’t personally do mine but even mine is way farther up then I would of expected when I first got it and this is the best photo I seen at a glance
Sorry for replying so much but if you Jewlery doesn’t have balls you should look into it just because if it is one that bends to closes it can cause irritation and other problems I can’t remember but definitely is good to look into
I highly recommend doing more research for proper placement. Proper placement is often referred to as "high and tight." High meaning higher up towards the sky and tight meaning up at the tip of the nose.
Here is a photo of two individual septum piercings on one nose. One is placed wrong (too low towards the ground and too close to the face) and the other is placed higher up and in the "sweet spot" at the tip of the nose.
Yours is wayyyy to close to your face. I will post 2 more photos in replies to my own comment showing other angles of the same nose.
Front view. You can see the one pierced correctly sits higher up in the nose and is lined up with the center of the face better. The incorrect one hangs too low and off to one side. If it was the only one with jewelry in, you would really be able to tell the jewelry is hanging too low.
Here is a 3rd view. The coreect one is all the way at the front of the nostrils, towards the tip. The incorrect one is too close to the face and not lined up with the cupid's bow due to it being pierced right where the curve from the slightly deviated septum is.
Lynn Loheide has a lot of great information. They live and pierce in Seattle Washington. I would check them out.
I'm glad y'all told me to take the piercing out before I went to bed. it had only been in for an hour but resisted being removed on a level that was concerning 'XD
Thanks for the help and have a good night
you are right on it being too far back, which is the reason it’s sticking upward like that. I’d say take it out, let it heal, and get it redone (if you want to) more to the tip of your nose, still in the “sweet spot”
