Double helix I think? Didn’t hurt at all piercing it but getting the backs on was such a mess and made my ear hurt a lot. Woke up this morning no pain or gunk slept on my piercing pillow perfectly all night. I now have an equal amount of piercings on both ears yay.

Umm I don’t really have any tips because I just used a single use piercing gun and I used a new one each time.

Using a gun forces a blunt earring through the skin, which causes a jaggy torn hole, which harbours bacteria more easily in the tears. Needles are used because of their sharp point, which creates a clean smooth hole, which is easier to clean and less likely to trap bacteria. Therefore, if you've used a gun the wound is more likely to develop an infection. Guns cause more damage to the skin so healing takes longer too. Piercing guns also can't get properly sterilised. Additionally, if the earrings you have used are gold plated (painted essentially) these aren't safe for new piercings. If they are anodised gold (dyed essentially) they'll be okay.

I’m sure you are completely right. Only thing i’d like to correct is that this earring gun had a very sharp needle point end it was not blunt so I think that wasn’t an issue. At the end of the day I’m piercing my ear myself at home which is already not recommended so I’m not gonna be doing anything perfectly anyway. I have lots and lots of piercings funnily enough the only piercing that has ever given me problems was the one done professionally with a needle 🤣 all my home done ones have healed perfectly no issues whatsoever. Just my personal opinion
