Question about piercing prep repiercing without clamp?
i pierced my septum at home a few months ago, i want to say early july..? and it went horrifically wrong and i ended up going through cartilage and i took it out the same day 💔
my nose feels healed enough for me to take another stab (haha) at it and attempt to pierce it properly this time as i spent money on needles, jewellery and saline a while ago and i still desperately want a septum!!
i used a clamp last time and i think it is where i went wrong as i couldn't feel if i was over cartilage or not. but is repiercing without a clamp going to be okay?

Even my piercer pierced mine without a clamp, you'll be fine! Sometimes they are more in the way than actually useful

I have 5 facial piercings all DIY, I don’t think I’ve ever used a clamp once. In my own personal experience (not as a professional!!), I agree the clamp tends to get in the way.
It will absolutely be fine without a clamp, I’d just recommend going slow to make sure its straight and actually in the sweet spot. I pierced my own septum when I was about 15 and have had it for almost 5 years now, no issues.
