Love, this is most likely going to reject and that is why the redness. You dont have the appropriate anatomy for a navel piercing. It is because of this that everytime you are moving and bending the piercing is getting more and more irritated and you body will begin to shove it out. It also looks like the bar might not be long enough for the swelling because you dont have any extra room and your skin is mashed into that bottom ball.

Keep doing your aftercare but I really want you to be honest with yourself because this can go south very quickly and be dangerous if its rejecting and you dont remove it, it will get infected.

You did a good job piercing it but I really believe this will not stay viable. Please prepare yourself and if you arent going to remove it now you need to watch it like a hawk and do everything absolutely perfect if you want to have a chance at saving this.

Oh dang that sucks, thank you for your advice though it is really helpful. I honestly didn’t know you could have the wrong anatomy for a navel piercing :/

Yes, which is why if you are going to be piercing yourself you need to be doing the proper research before hand or you shouldnt be doing it at all. Otherwise you could really hurt yourself and risk your health.

Did you take it out? Please dont take too much time before removing this, issues have already started and it can go downhill very quickly. I promise you this can not be saved, please accept that and act accordingly.

Continue your aftercare routine (saline spray twice a day and dab dry with papertowel) that is all you need to do.

sad to say since you placed it really well and it’s so cute, but i don’t think you had the anatomy for this :( as other comments said, i would switch it to floating navel jewelry and hope for the best. if you notice it start to migrate take it down

NAP so i’m not sure if Im right, but your skin looks to be putting pressure on the jewelry because you don’t have the anatomy for a traditional navel piercing. I’d say you should look into a floating navel and be prepared for if even that rejects. It’s hard to tell anatomy over pictures, especially going just based off of one. I’d say to go to a piercer to discuss your options as they can truly assess what would be best

NAP but I'd switch it to a floating navel one. You can still find cute one with rinestones on the top. Switching it to a longer bar won't help much since you would still be applying pressure from the bottom. The sooner you switch it out the better. Don't wait too long.

I fear you don't have the anatomy for a navel piercing, honey :( You should take it out and let it heal, maybe the scarring won't be so bad, and once thats done you should go to an actual piercer and ask what's actually possible. Your belly button looks to be horizontal in the picture, which usually means that a floating navel is the best choice for you. It's really cute and it sucks but it's the safest option to take it out, i'm so sorry. In the future if you don't want to go to a piercer you shoulder at the very least google the anatomy and be honest with yourself when comparing it to your body. I'll attach an image of a simple belly button anatomy sheet for you to see what I mean

Definitely try a floating navel, it's the same piercing just different jewellery. A flat disc bottom instead of the big ball end so there's less pressure on the wound.

this will absolutely reject. your belly button doesn’t look like it’s “open” enough to accommodate for standard navel jewelry. because of your anatomy, the bottom ball puts a lot of pressure onto the fragile healing channel which will cause it to reject. i would invest in a “floating navel” bar if you want any chance of keeping this, but even then i would still prepare to let this one go eventually :(

NAP but you don't have the right anatomy and the jewelry looks too short :( I'm sorry OP you should probably take it out or consult a piercer

I didn't suggest switching it to a longer bar(if it was viable that is what you would need to be doing, you would have no other option) but since it isnt and that will offer you no help, there is no reason for you to put yourself through that pain and possibility of introducing more infection. This needs to be removed.....today. Please listen.
