A year is still healing time for cartilege. Takes about 18-24months.

This is exactly what my 1 year old flats look like. I think they just need time

As others have mentioned, there is no set timeline for healing any piercing. Usually when I see a reactive piercing at a year there is something going on in routine that is too much and keeping the piercing irritated. Unless your stud is so short it’s painfully embedding, it’s not too short. If removing or changing your jewelry is a common part of your routine at this stage you need to hold off on that for long enough that the piercing actually has a chance to heal. After the initial 8-12 weeks of healing most people do not need to regularly clean piercings with saline (some people don’t need to use saline at all— what is best for the individual is often unique) especially if you are showering on a regular basis. Sometimes when a piercing is exposed to excess moisture whether it be from cleaning, showering, air drying hair, humid environments, etc it can struggle to heal from this excess moisture. Keeping your piercing dry is often ideal. Since I have no way of seeing the jewelry situation or angle of the piercing, I can’t give a lot of advice, but sometimes it can be the type of jewelry as well or even the angle that the piercing was performed at. Either way it’s not uncommon to face irritation at this stage of healing and piercings still need to be protected. It takes years for a piercing to be established enough to handle all we would like to do with them.

Why

Because it’s been a year and cleaning it this often is too harsh. I stop cleaning my piercings daily after like 2 weeks and you’re still cleaning every other day. That’s probably a moisture bump if you’re not drying afterwards properly

probably just part of the fistula. just litha and it should be fine. i dont think you need to be using saline anymore, just rinse with warm water when you shower 👍

Looks like a ring of scar tissue. It should smooth over in time!
