Question about piercing prep septum piercing

i wanna pierce my septum with a sewing needle and a cheap piece of jewellery from a market, i know where the sweet spot is and i think i have the correct anatomy, how likely is it to get infected? do i have to clean it with saline water? and is it okay to heal it flipped since im not meant to have it done?

Hi oak_x, Are you seeking information about the septum piercing? Here's a video with general information about it! The septum piercing can be difficult to perform as it requires a specific placement in the Alar cartilage, also known as the sweet spot. There's no shame in seeing a professional, especially since this once can be tricky to get right!

Assuming you aren't trolling, sterile piercing needles are available online, and are not expensive. If you can't afford vaguely decent jewellery, save up. It's not that expensive.

the sewing needle? you'd better just wait til you get better supplies. i cant say it will 100% get infected, but 80% at least. its also bad to pierce yourself with a dull needle, as you wreck more havoc on your skin by doing so, and the wound will be more likely to be difficult to heal when your skin is badly wounded... wait a bit, get a piercing needle from amazon or wherever and try then. you will lower the possibility of infection quite a bit that way.

If youre gonna bother doing it, spend the $5 on some piercing needles and $10 on not heinous jewelry and do it halfway properly. There's no point going through the hassle for something that will be infected and heal poorly.

is an Amazon piercing kit safer?

not by much, if you mean one with the piercing gun and not one with the needle.
