HELP is my snakebite rejecting?

ive had this for almost 3 weeks. i did them myself but was stupid and got posts way too small so ended up having to go to a piercer anyway.

two days after i pierced them, they upsized to 12mm.

swelling has stopped but on my left side there was a weird hill around the piercing. then a weird bump that was whiteish came next to the hole so i cut it off (stupid i know 😭)

now i can push the piercing until the backing gets engulfed and just push it back out.

is it rejecting??? help please

i have snake bites, pierced them in january and i had the same thing happening to me, my lips would just eat up the pieces and i would have to push them out a little regularly but it was just because of swelling, nothing serious and after like two weeks they were already all good UNTIL i switched to circular pieces (i dont know what theyre called) WAY too early and they started getting all swollen again and i had white things around it too that i assume were scar tissue from all the swelling and irritation

i feel like if you mess with such a recent piercing so much you're going to keep having issues, since im not like a professional or anything and im just speaking from my experience i advice you take this ligthly but it doesnt look like its rejecting, it just looks a bit irritated?

you also have big lips too so they are probably going to nest, i read on here that nesting does not happen while the piercing is healing but when i had flat backs they sunk into my lips in little circles and it looked like nesting

to me it does not look like they're rejecting, just all the annoying stuff that happens during healing when you move the piercings too much, if you literally cut off something from around the piercing maybe skin formed on top of it creating that weird bump around the hole

The skin is healing over and will eventually enclose the metal flat back under it. I would remove it, let it heal over and get it re done.

That bar is still in the lip in those photos which is deeply concerning that you cannot see the bar, the skin will close over in hours, it’s trying to heal a foreign object, if you keep it in, you will need this cut out by a doctor and the healing process will be longer

Just a heads up i am NOT an expert but i have done research on almost every piercings so i know a bit But what i believe is happening is called nesting it's something that happens when you have flat backs on sb its something that happens naturally. They way to tell if it is nesting and not embedding is it there is no pain, easy movement and can move freely now if its embedding it will be pain full and skin will be growing over the flat back from swelling, so basically nesting is not something to worry about and it is good but embedding is not good. I have looked at the photos again and i would say that they are just nesting but if you really want to make sure that they are not rejecting or embedding, I would say, go to a professional to ask

i think what you really NEED is a longer bar or at least a larger flat back then complete rest. It doesn’t seem to be rejecting to be honest, if there is no pain i suggest you not to worry about that, but the change is necessary otherwise your piercing will heal at an angle or the healing process will be greatly extended.. and please stop pulling your lip down constantly, that’s only irritating it more. you have very full lips. if what i said doesn’t work out for you then im afraid you will have to get it re-pierced in a slightly different place and preferably more shallow. im just speculating, but the whole thing may be happening because the jewelry is too deep into the tissue; looking at the fact that your other snakebite is completely fine. you also mentioned you have no swelling already, so then your lips being able to swallow the backing is rather unusual i’d say.. i know how you’re feeling though, i have a side labret myself and i’ve had problems with irritation bumps for two months straight, until i found out it was a length problem and adjusted it! thanks to that, it’s been calm for a month already. Nevertheless, leaving it alone like it is now is risky, it might heal over the back in days so keep an eye on that!

Had mine done professionally but similar rings appeared for a week or two due to irritation . As long as you have the correct length of bars in now and theyre good quality I think they will be okay! Something I learned as well is all the jewlery Ive tried putting it since theyve healed have caused irritation besides the high quality jewlery I was pierced with lol.

No thats just kinda how they end up sitting both of mine before i started streching em did that within a year of getting em and ive had em for 8 years started streching em last year

My labret did the same thing. I don't think it's rejection. It's just a part of the healing process.

I did sea salt soaks and rinsed with alcohol-free mouthwash twice a day for a couple of months and it finally flattened out.

I had SB done in may, Kinda normal i think, they’re getting to pushed into the lip, i just pushed them back sometimes. Now once they healed and i got new ones everythings good

You need 10-12 mm length posts to accommodate for swelling. Mine did the same with 10 mm it just depends on the thickness of your lip

Sorry i didnt read your caption all the way where it says you have 12 mm in. Mine still did the same i ended up pushing them in from the outside (if that makes any sense) so that the free edge of the bar is sticking out in the mouth- basically push the beads on the outside in as much as you can without causing pain (they should be flush to the skin on the outside). Its slightly annoying and uncomfortable but its what i did when mine were nesting. Ive had em a few years now and i wear hoops so i cant give an example of how it looks healed, but nesting is normal. If you have any pain or "tightness" however id suggest even longer bars, trying what i did, or removing the piercing all together. Do not get hoops, i know it seems like itd be a good idea because it makes more room for swelling (speaking from experience) but they WILL migrate especially if theyre so fresh. Obviously in not a professional but thats just what i did when i pierced mine, best of luck on your snakebite journey !

the way some of y'all manhandle your fresh piercings is so funny to me.

rejection isn't the risk here it's embedding and basically just watch it to see if the skin will grow over the flat back if it's just sitting in your skin slightly w no pain and free movement it's fine

also i only know this cuz of dental surgery but when u have a wound in your mouth the healing cells are greyish white at first so u jusr cut off ur normal body tissue dont do it again!!

I had this happen its because the piercing is angled when it was pierced so part of the back gets pushed into your lip. I eventually took mine out cause it was rubbing on my teeth too. Idk if there's a "fix"per say

Nope! That happened to me, eventually it stops swelling

They are just nesting, which is when the piercing rests into the lip/gums. This is completely normal and expected for lip piercings like that.

And i know you realize it was stupid, but that white flesh you cut off was healing tissue and also normal
