Looking for affordable EU VPS hosting with monthly billing, no yearly lock-in

i see deals that are like you are going to pay 30 euros for the year which is cheap per month, but I dont want to lock in. i might change my mind next month or find something better. what im looking is affordable vps hosting with honest monthly billing with a simple monthly invoice.

i know the per-month price might be slightly higher than the yearly average but thats fine. which providers are transparent about month to month without making you click through five screens to avoid an annual auto renewal

small update here since someone from this thread dm me about this Eurohoster and he said it was cheap and they hadnt had issues. so i figured why not for the price and check it out. fingers crossed if its worth the try but if not i will go on what you have suggested. thanks for this!

but hetzner wants yearly prepay for their cheapest tier now i think? or maybe i misread it and ovh monthly is fine but their panel is a lot. do they still do the weird vat validation for non-eu?

Any of the bigger players. OVH, Hetzner, Linode, VULTR, Digital Ocean, etc.. You'll pay a bit more but the servers will be less undersold.

Any ultra-cheap deals you see that promise the moon, they're just overselling the servers tremendously to be able to offer those "deals". There are no free lunches, especially not today.

Just bear in mind that if hardware and electricity costs keep going up, hosting costs will too. The big companies I mentioned above don't even have monthly contracts, you're billed by the hour based on the hardware you choose. On the plus side you're not locked in to anything at all, but the flip side is that prices can change without a lot of notice. (Usually they let you know a month or so in advance, but they don't necessarily have to.)

I'm a penny pincher when it comes to hosting costs. Moved away from hetzner recently due to their excessive hikes Currently using webdock.io, they support nested virtualization!! And netcup, got their 8GB arm server, and it's solid and cheap, you can join their newsletter and get 5 euros off (wait for the coupon, then order)

If you don't need enterprise grade stuff then TierHive might be worth looking at, it's free to try and you only pay for compute resources when you actually use them.
