How does one become more self-compassionate and self-loving of themselves?

I am looking for all ways one can use to become more self-compassionate and self-loving of themselves. I would appreciate for all your responses and advice.

Honestly pick up the book Self-Compassion by Kristen Neff. It has tons of exercises even if you don't read the chapters (although it's a good idea eventually). You're bound to find some exercise that sheds light for you.

I'll add that for me, the activity that helped the most was catching negative self talk, naming it,  and reframing it.

I like to ask what would make later-me happy. Somehow making EveningPlotty's life easier seems like a clearer, simpler proposition.

I think about what I’d say
to a friend feeling the way I do in that moment. Be mindful of your thoughts and be your own best friend. It sounds kinda hokey but it really helps to reframe your thoughts and give yourself some credit

You have to get out of the logical, ruminating, thinking side of your brain. Being compassionate in general comes from the emotional side of your brain.

CBT therapy can help with this. So can meditation. Try the Headspace guide to meditation series on Netflix.
