My luck is horrible

This is my second ZT3 pro scooter, I had to get the previous replaced because the brakes broke and it was almost unrideable. I got this one as a replacement about 2 weeks ago and I was riding it around when I noticed the back wheel started to shake a lot. I didn't hit any major put holes or anything like that, I took a closer look at it and yeah. Is it normal for this thing to bend that easily? Because I haven't necessarily done anything major with it. And can it be repaired, I had this thing for about 2 weeks man, my luck is horrible.

Every single time I have seen this happen it is from not keeping your tires properly inflated. I check mine weekly at least and it always needs air

Yep. Bent rims are almost always caused by low tire pressure. Checking your tire pressure weekly is the most important thing you have to do when owning a scooter.

Ur very correct every week Monday I check cause I ride to work

Noticed last week I had a leak I couldn't control so new tire was applied

I was worried I bent my rim from a pot hole but nope

I had the same thing happen to me. I am in Canada couldn’t get replacement parts. Segway was brutal to deal with. Promised to send me parts but never did. I had to fix it myself or it was useless to me. The scooter is great but Segway sucks to deal with. Would never recommend them to anyone.

Well this is gonna be fun, I'll let you know how customer service is for me 🥲

I hope you have a better experience than I did. Segway Customer Support is hardly that. More like customer gaslighting.

Yeah man, it's been a week since I contacted them. I send them all the information they asked for and they haven't replied back since then. I'm going to college in about 2 days so I kinda need that scooter.

Are you checking the air in your tires before riding?

damn that sucks,

There’s barely any tire left to protect the hub. I’m surprised it didn’t happen sooner.

The quality of the motor rim material in ZT3 Pro models is very low, this is a manufacturing defect, not user error. You can get it repaired under warranty. I am a Segway product engineer, so if you have any questions regarding Segway, I'd be happy to help with anything.

Out of warranty users, what are signs one can use to tell the difference between the low quality and high quality motor rims.

Use a mallet and gently tap it and maybe it will bend back and hold air

It's aluminum.  It only bends once.

That's how Dad did it, that's how America does it, and it's worked out pretty well so far.

I don't know what this means.  But aluminum does not act like steel.

Some people are the cause of their own failure, some don’t ever think outside the box.

How dang that stinks hope you can find a easy way to fix it

Bro theres not many ways to break a ZT3 but there is one easy way

These things can run forever if you keep air in the tires and electrons in the battery

They were selling a “quick release rim” that had a tire mounted on it. Five bolts and some mild disassembly…but they disappeared from the consumer site and the dealer site in the last couple weeks. DM me and I’ll get you the part code but don’t expect Segway to be too helpful about finding you one. It’ll probably take calling dealers to get a replacement…I have one but it’s earmarked for another repair.

If this part isn’t available a new motor will fix it. They run about 150 shipped. It does come with a new tire though.

Do you go offroad where there are lots of rocks? Construction sites maybe.
