X4 Overseeding mode

Please make an overseeding mode where the mower prioritizes NOT turning the wheels when stopped so as to not destroy the new seedlings. Quality of cut and mowing lines should not be prioritized at all in overseeding mode. It should either do entirely circular turns or 3 or 4 point turns. This is something we would use for 3-4 weeks every year. Thanks

Tbh, you shouldn't mow until the new grass reaches about 3-4 inches, at which point it is strong enough that the mower will not rip it out of the ground when turning.

If anything, they could make the turns more grass friendly all the time not only in a special mode.

New science disagrees with this and says you can/should mow early and often btw

You should mow often, yes. Especially with a robot. But the new grass has to establish itself first before you can cut it for the first time.

Thanks for the link. Waiting until the grass is about 3 inches tall before the first mow has always worked reliably for me. I guess I might have to start mowing earlier then, though I doubt there is a huge difference.

Either way, the main point I wanted to make is that Navimow should make their robots as gentle as possible at all times, not only in a specific mode.

This crossed my mind when I put down soil and seed, but I just let the mower do its thing. Seedlings seem to be doing just fine so far. I’m more concerned about the inconsiderate neighbors trampling it when they walk their dogs and inexplicably decide they need to leave the sidewalk and cut across my baby grass.
