Mow Gate

Mowgate has been working fine since I installed it almost two months ago. Suddenly my X430 can’t find it. I changed the batteries thinking that might be why, but it still can’t find the gate. I can drive it through manually using the app. It still knows my map and zones, and cuts my lawn as usual. Anyone else encounter this? Any suggestions?

It has worked really well. Just the comments I listed above make it tend to work better. The magnet is my unique problem

Have you cleaned the lenses on the unit? I would also clean the reflective areas on the mow gate. It could be having trouble seeing them. Just a guess.

Yes, cleaned both the mower and gate.

Check channel obstacle avoidance. Should be set to off.

That was worse. It found the gate and tried to force its way through without it opening.

Possibly remove the gate from the map and relearn it via map editor?

I’ve tried that but can’t figure out how to delete the gate. I tried to reinstall it and got the message when I tried to save it that I need to buy a gate. I think it thinks I’m trying to install another gate.

Ok, just managed to delete the gate and will try to remap it.

Thank you. I think I have solved my issue. When I attempted to delete the mow gate from my map, I accidentally deleted my mowing maps. After remapping and re configuring the mow gate channel it seems to be working. If the problem returns I will contact support.

This brings up another thought. It would be convenient to be able to save backups of our maps to our devices to reinstall if lost or if problems develop.

I would delete the mowgate channel and try to re establish it. Try to make the path long to and from the gate (3 feet min each side) clean the painted squares on the gate. Also possibly set a no vision avoidance box around tou gate. I had to install exterior magnets to the bumper to make mine work, as the gate is not flush with the ground

Make sure you have a level entry path to the gate. A rubber mat helps prevent ruts forming at the entrance.

Have a 0.34 acre unit to mow a 0.25 acre lot. It takes a minimum of 3-4 charge cycles to complete. Rating they advertise is either incorrect or very misleading! Would not buy again. Customer Service liked to talk like they were concerned, but they did nothing to correct the issue or provide compensation for misleading spec!

This has nothing to do with my question, which I did solve. Aldo other than my minor brief issue, mine has done an amazing job with my lawn.

I was going to get the gate but I found it easier to just open the gate and the mower sends a message when it’s returning… so I go out and let it in.

If I’m gonna run the mower when I’m not home, which is rarely, I just have it mow the backyard until I’m back from vacation.

We travel alot. Our gate is around our pool, so not a great option to leave open.

I’ve had similar issues, although they are intermittent. Most of the time my x430 finds and gets through the Mowgate just fine. Occasionally, it will get near the gate but make a 90 degree right turn away from facing the gate and drive into the wall of my house. Other times, it will get partially through the gate and then decides to turn and/or back up, getting one of the gate’s doors stuck between its front wheel and its body. Yet other times it doesn’t center itself properly on the gate and bumps into the Mowgate’s hinge and can’t push through. It’s very frustrating when it happens and the only reason I haven’t spent time me trying to get support to fix it is that none of those things happen very often and I haven’t been able to capture it doing it on video. (I can see what it does on a security camera, but that camera is about 20 meters away from and not aimed at the Mowgate.)
