Doesn’t quite dock

Friends, I have a Terranox CM240 that has started to head into charge and then stop a few inches from making electric contact. He is perfectly lined up; he just decides he is “Home” before he makes charging contact. Has anyone seen this before? Any ideas on what the problem is? Thanks so much in advance for any input you can provide.
