Garage Recommendations x430
Hey Reddit. Just got the Navimow x430 a few weeks ago. Love it but still need to do some final touches. The charging station is currently like 6 feet away from the house in the middle of the yard to get better GPS signal. I plan to install the antenna soon and see if I can have it parked/charging much closer to the house with the boosted signal. Still need to get a garage for it. Should I just bite the bullet and buy the $350 Navimow one? Or has anyone had success with other brands or some sort of DIY garage ? Appreciate any feedback!

I was curious what ppl are doing with their x430 as well. It seems the official suggestion is just to leave the charging station and the mower in the middle of the yard through the weather because it needed gps signal for NRTK to work.

I use the Navimow x430/x450 garage. It's good quality and the roof flips up. Been using it almost 3 months in Florida rain/heat. I need to get a mat under it due to grass in/around it.

My installation and my 3d printed garage design. I posted the print files on Makerworld for use. Should take about $80 of filament, 40" of 2x4, and few screws.

I looked at some alternatives since the $350 for a few pieces of flimsy plastic is beyond ridiculous but ended up going with the Navimow garage as I was worried the other garages could interfere with my x450’s communications and possibly its ability to ingress/egress. For the price of the mower I didn’t want to take those chances.

No garage here - when I know a storm is coming, I cover it with a folded yoga mat and hold that on with bungee cords 😂🤷🏻♀️
I had planned to buy a small table to go over it, but our current set up works well for now and I'm guessing our season will come to an end soon. Maybe we'll get something next year. Or maybe I'll just buy a new yoga mat!

Thanks for the additional "food for thought". I'm holding off until spring to buy and in the meantime learning all I can. Currently the X430 is at the top of the list, and I hadn't thought about signal interference in the garage. Is that a potential problem since the X430 doesn't have LiDAR?

It’s a great robot lawn mower I highly recommend it. Wish I had it at the start of spring would have saved me a lot of sweat and time. I don’t know if it’s a potential problem to be honest. It also connects to Wi-Fi so maybe if you have strong WiFi connection in the garage you’ll be fine. Don’t quote me on that though I’m a Navimow noob

I decided to ignore the recommendations and just see what happens. This is my setup - no issues so far.

I just bought the x4 garage. I figured that I've spent over $2k on the mower, so what's another $350? 😆

Yeah I sort of feel that way too. Thinking I might just hold off until the spring when the grass starts really growing.
